Trend to Try: The Oversized Turtleneck

Alexander Wang, Michael Kors and Gucci are all offering their take on the oversized turtleneck this fall

Crawl into a cocoon of warmth and look trendy doing it; oversized turtlenecks are in. From chunky, ribbed-knit versions to lighter, more flowing variations, the tunic sized sweater should have plenty of room but not be so overwhelming it misses the trend. Pick one that gets a tad narrower after your waist so it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a smock. And extra long sleeves dragging in your meal are no fun; cuff those things for a finishing touch. As for what to pair it with, style your lower half in a way that flatters your main piece: the turtleneck. Neutral colors and fitted silhouettes are always safe, but if  you’re feeling more daring, try a feminine, tailored skirt on the bottom. To keep things proportionate, go for a maxi or a mini, accentuated with some classic leather pumps. So good.
