Golden Globe Trend Alert: Ravishing on the Red Carpet
By Nola Weinstein January 14,2013
Luck be a lady. We associate red with good fortune and apparently some of our favorite actresses do too. At Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards a slew of nominees and presenters opted for ravishing red gowns in a variety of hues–crimson, cranberry, tomato, and apple made for a glamorous affair. Among those who wore the color were New Girl Zooey Deschanel in taffeta Oscar de la Renta and Jennifer Garner, who was on hand to present and support her husband, in a Vivienne Westwood Couture burgundy sequin strapless gown. And apparently it was a winning choice for Claire Danes and Jennifer Lawrence, who both took home Globes for best actress in their respective categories. The Homeland star showed off her post baby bod in a plunging Versace number, while Lawrence wore Dior Haute Couture. Based on the color’s success rate, we’ll be wearing it to all future formal engagements.
