Peter Som Cancels His Fall 2013 Show; Is He Working on Michelle Obama’s Inauguration Gown?
By Bianca Posterli January 17,2013
Fashion Week is shaping up to be very, very interesting this season. On the heels of the news that Jason Wu is moving to Oscar de la Renta‘s former show space, Peter Som canceled his Fall 2013 show.
The update about the cancellation comes straight from a representative for the designer. He was originally set to show his newest creations at Milk Studios on the 8th of February. Though nothing’s been confirmed yet, it’s been alluded to that there’s a possibility that he’ll show his collection in a smaller presentation.
Given the fact that Monday marks the monumental Inauguration Ball, Som’s decision not to host a full runway show is interesting timing. Could his choice to scale down be due to that fact that he’s dedicating most of his efforts to creating the perfect gown for Michelle Obama?
UPDATE: Peter Som will show during New York Fashion Week–digitally–on public relations firm, KCD’s Digital Fashion Show, February 13th, at 9 a.m.
