Jill Biden Wears Lela Rose to the 2013 Inauguration and Vera Wang to Inaugural Balls

The 2013 Inauguration was all about sticking to what works. Both politically and sartorially, this administration proved that there is comfort in the familiar. While Michelle Obama once again chose Jason Wu for the Inaugural Balls, Jill Biden made a style statement all her own in Vera Wang. For the day’s ceremonies, Dr. Biden wore a Lela Rose dress and grey jacket, which was adorned with a big bow; for Monday evening’s parties she changed into a satin purple gown with a draped back by Vera Wang. The designer took to Twitter to share her excitement, saying, “What a joy, honor and privilege to have dressed Dr Jill Biden for tonight’s Inauguration. A beautiful, spirited, accomplished woman!” Biden seems to be most loyal to female American designers, opting for a red Reem Acra gown in 2009!
