Former J.Crew Designer Marissa Webb Goes Solo

In fall 2011, womenswear designer Marissa Webb left J. Crew after 11 years “to pursue other opportunities,” and we’ve been anxiously waiting for that next big thing since. Our patience paid off; Webb is back, a last, with her own line for spring 2013 available at Barneys New York. The collection sticks to classic pieces such as cropped tweed jackets, tailored blazers, chic equipment blouses and structured tops, but modernized with neon touches, leather detail, standout prints and cool color blocking. The result is a timeless selection with a bold, modern twist. She already has a celebrity following too. Anna Kendrick hosted a dinner for Webb at Barneys New York in Manhattan January 29th, thanking the designer for inspiring her to take fashion risks with wearable clothing. Marissa Webb will show her namesake label at New York Fashion Week, and you can watch her show live at newyork.mbfashionweek.com. In the meantime, though, get shopping with her ready to wear looks at Barneys.com.
