Ale by Alessandra: Alessandra Ambrosio’s Getting Creative with Cherokee!

Victoria Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio is stretching her designer wings with her very own lifestyle line! She is teaming up with Cherokee, who already owns Liz Lange, Completely Me, Sideout, and Carole Little, to create the brand, Alè by Alessandra.

The line will make its debut in Spring 2014, starting with pieces that range from casual to day into evening, geared toward 18 to 35 year olds. But Alessandra just wants to be clear that just a one off. “This is not a hobby for me,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “I’ve been a fashion model for 15 years and designing is just an extension of my career. I still plan on modeling lingerie, but at the same time, this is a business transition that I plan to have around for a long time.” It should be noted that this is hardly her first foray into the fashion design world. She collaborated on a line of shoes with Melissa and partnered with Colcci to design in addition to her role as the face of the brand.

Ambrosio counts Domenic Dolce, Stefano Gabbana and John Galliano as designer inspirations – creatives that she learned from while modeling. The sketches of her line of boho chic, body-conscious and colorful clothes with a beachy vibe include tunics, mini and maxi dresses as well as shorts, stretchy pants and cropped jackets.

Basically, wearing this line will make you feel like you’re dressed like a supermodel, which isn’t a bad thing, at all.
