Storm Style Essentials for the Weekend Blizzard
By Katherine Fotinos February 08,2013
Tough times East Coasters-up to 18 inches of snow and potential flooding over the next couple of days is no joke. It’s never a good time for a storm, especially not in the middle of Fashion Week festivities. Our suggestion? Take the next 24 hours to rest up for next week’s runway shows with a few good movies and a toasty hot toddy, safe and warm in the comfort of your home. However, if you’re daring enough to brave the blizzard this weekend, or perhaps, due to an evening obligation don’t have much of a choice, at least look good doing it. It can be difficult to appear fashionable and pulled together when you’re just concerned about staying dry, but practicality doesn’t necessarily have to forgo style, and we got the pieces to prove it. Sorel’s Medina Rain Heels are super sophisticated, especially when paired with sleek coated denim that won’t soak up water. Best of all, they’re waterproof, making them the perfect dressed up footwear for intense weather. To stay warm, bundle up with a chic, hooded trench style raincoat, toasty wool socks and a soft turtleneck. Swipe on some waterproof mascara to avoid a bad case of raccoon eyes and you’re ready to beat this blizzard. 1.
