DESIGNER: Reem Acra INSPIRATION: Japan and the photography series by artist, Diado Moriyama featuring abstracts of the female body in fish net stockings. TRENDS: For Fall 2013, Reem Acra fused two worlds together to create a new modern urban sensibility. Influenced by Moriyama’s photographs, the collection played with fabric layering, combining prints with signature embroideries, leather and fur. Clearly inspired by Japanese silhouettes, Acra played with volumes ranging from luxuriously oversized to lean and sculpted with traditional kimonos to bomber jackets and lean streamlined columns.
