Helen Hunt Awards H&M a Moment on the Oscars Red Carpet
By Bianca Posterli February 25,2013
Helen Hunt changed all of that at the 2013 Academy Awards when she walked down the carpet in a custom navy silk satin strapless dress from H&M – part of their Conscious Collection. “[H&M] is making sustainable clothes, which I love, so it’s a win-win-win,” said Hunt of her decision. Beginning in April, the fast fashion store will launch their red carpet collection, featuring styles similar to (but not including) Hunt’s H&M dress of choice. While she did score her dress from a store that’s readily found in suburban malls, Hunt’s Oscars style is far from affordable. The star wore $700,000 worth of Martin Katz jewels, cementing the aspirational portion of her fashion moment. Oh, and the price associated with the H&M dress? A cool $650 – much steeper than most are willing to pay for prom, but mountains behind the cost of couture most stars don for Oscars night.
