See that far-off look in her eyes?
She’s wondering why she didn’t think of wearing a White +Warren cardi earlier…
Chances are, if you live and work in the Continental United States, the office is plagued with wardrobe woes during the summer months: If not the ol’ what-does-casual-Fridays-really-mean? conundrum, then there’s the sundress-and-perma-shivers combo that results from The Man’s high-octane air condition units. Behold, the answer to these and other sartorial issues: Summer-weight cashmere. Warm enough to make the A/C bearable and breezy enough to be youthful (i.e. this is ain’t no Grannie knit), the delicate cardigans from White + Warren come in every color—so there’s sure to be one that pairs well with your workday look, be it a casual Friday confection or not.

Mark Newson’s Dom Pérignon
Years ago, the archetypal American Dad was a beer-swilling figure, but today, we realize that some paternal figures have a more delicate palate. With this modern man in mind, why not break out a bottle of high-design bubbly this Father’s Day? Dom Pérignon recently tapped design guru Marc Newson to engineer a sleek, collectable vessel, the Dom Pérignon by Marc Newson Magnum Container, Season Two. Constructed from sleek aluminium and filled with a bottle of Dom Pérignon’s finest champagne it’s just the thing for the cosmopolitan Pop. Available at Moss New York and Los Angeles for $1,000.

The Driving Range at the Chelsea Piers
Apologies for the posting schedule, but I’ve been out, practicing my golf swing–and test driving my newest accessory: The princess patterned Easy Glove. It’s like a sporty, Hello Kitty version of Michael Jackson’s iconic le gant, which is great because ’80s pop styles are so having a moment.

As any Kentucky Derby fan can tell you, summer hats are far more fashionable than their autumnal counterparts. (No doubt in part due to the lack of controversial materials involved: When’s the last time you saw someone get up in arms about raffia? Now rabbits, on the other hand…)
But while perky visors, straw bowlers and Panama hats have long been de rigeur for outdoor adventures like seaside frolics and Sunday brunches, lately a new style has popped up on fashionable heads: The Topless Hat. Once reserved for retiree wardrobes exclusively, the alterna-accessory has been incorporated into tony vacation looks (like those seen at Oscar de la Renta’s recent Cruise show) and re-imagined by milliners like Eric Javits. So what’s the allure of the non-hat hat? “It keeps the sun-induced wrinkles away while bleaching out my locks,” says one of my stylish colleagues. To test drive this spa-treatment-like accessory for yourself, try one of these:

Eric Javits Halo Visor, $165

Ugg Wrap-Around Visor, $56.25

Palm Leaf Guatemalan Hat, $24.75

A Knitta “tag” in Paris
Got a pen? Well put this on your weekend calendar:
Knitta, a team of graffiti knitters (yes, you read that right) is making a rare public appearance in Soho’s Madewell store. This Friday the 16th the anonymous group–which has traveled the world from London to Tokyo to knit their bright yarn sleeves over everything from marble statues to street signs–will descend and “tag” the downtown store. Then, on Saturday from 4-7:00 pm the creative statement-makers will be on hand to customize the belt-loops of Madewell’s cool and colorful jeans. (Gratis with purchase!) Be sure to swing by and be embellished, but leave your own needles at home as this isn’t exactly your granny’s knit-one-purl-two scene. Madewell, 486 Broadway New York, NY 10079

This is usually GlamBlush’s territory, but I couldn’t help pointing out this fantastic, tres fashionable perfume case from Estée Lauder. Not only is Aerin Lauder’s ‘Tuberose Gardenia’ scent wholly intoxicating, but the case that holds the solid perfume (the most purse-friendly way to carry any eau b.t.w.) comes festooned with citrine, yellow and green jade. Who needs jewelry when your make-up bag has so much bling? Estée Lauder ‘Tuberose Gardenia’ Solid Perfume, $175 at Nordstrom.

Are Toms the new Chucks? As evidenced at the recent Coachella festival, it appears that Toms Shoes are going toe-to-toe with Converse for the indie scene’s favorite footwear award. For decades, classic Chuck Taylors have been the go-to sneaker for punks, skaters and other cooler-than-thou folks. But recently, Toms—with their simple design and impressively altruistic mission—have become a favorite of the culturally engaged set. Can an iconic shoe be fully eclipsed by a sure-footed newbie? To answer this truly perplexing question for yourself, take a gander at the street-style shots (grass trend photos?) on Elle.com to check out this trend on the rise:

Sarah Jessica Parker wears Erickson Beamon necklaces at last night’s Point Foundation Honors The Arts at Capitale,NYC
While not the kind of die-hard SJP worshipper that some of my colleagues are (the most devoted of the bunch has a photo of Carrie Bradshaw’s expansive closet as her screensaver. For reals! That is love!), I can appreciate her styling prowess. For instance, last night she stepped out (along with her Sex & the City cohorts and West Village neighbors Gwyneth Paltrow and Helena Christensen) wearing a simple satin dress and three bold necklaces from Erickson Beamon.
Now, the statement necklace trend has hanging around for some time, dripping off runway all-stars and red-carpet regulars with a high fashion I.Q. —like SJP herself—for good reason: One easy piece can gussy up every thing from jeans to simple shift dresses. Plus, the kookier the piece, the less you have to worry about finding a garment of the same hue, era, etc. (As and added bonus, long lariats like SJP’s tend to elongate the figure—a trick that comes in handy when you’ve got paparazzi nipping at your Louboutin heels!) Should you want to channel her highness on your next SATC-infused evening (You know, when you slip into some multi-hued get-up and transform into one cocktail-swilling, snarktastic flirt. Don’t deny it!), try one or two of these cosmopolitan stunners instead of the locket/name in script/charm of your homestate necklace you usually wear:

Stephen Dweck, $3150

Subversive, $2400

Tom Binns, $698

Subversive for Target, $59.99

Erickson Beamon, $798

Urban Outfitters, $14.99

J.Crew, $125

By now you know that organic farming has replaced DJing as the most covetable vocation for today’s tastemakers. It’s no surprise then that supporting arcadian do-gooders is also all the rage. For example, the forward-thinking folks at Hayden-Harnett are donating proceeds from their cheery eco-friendly tote go to FarmAid, a non-profit which promotes local, organic, and sustainable farming through education and training. So not only are you avoiding those loathsome plastic bags if you put your pesticide-free veggies in this HH tote, you also get to feel like some part of you actually planted and harvested them yourself!

*Hate to disappoint, but the baubles pictured are from Harris’ own line, not from his Target collection.
A preview of his GO! International collaboration will come soon.
