Farrah Fawcett was a style icon in her own right. The Charlie’s Angels
star was an all-American beauty with good looks and personality to
boot. She made the red bathing suit an object of desire and plaid shirts
were somehow sexy on her. We will remember her crystal blue eyes and
famous blond hairdo. Though she will be missed, Fawcett continues to
inspire. If you want something to grip onto, these items may do the
trick. ~Nola Weinstein

The September Issue is upon us. A trailer of the most anticipated documentary for fashion followers and die hard Vogue fans has just leaked online and its already proving to be quite the real life Devil Wears Prada. The clip gives us a taste of terse quotes from editrix, Anna Wintour such as “this font is so large and pretentious it looks like it’s for blind people.” The September Issue (the most important issue of the year) follows the magazine and it’s infamous editor-in-chief delving behind the scenes for an extremely rare glimpse inside the workings of Vogue and Wintour. With appearances from notable designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, and Thakoon the Anna love is heavy but so is the magnitude of the characters involved. We were thrilled to hear editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley exclaim “it’s a famine of beauty, it’s a famine of beauty!” The film promises to be a delicious treat for all of us fashion fanatics. We truly cannot wait! Check out the preview with this link. Enjoy! Savour! And anticipate!~Adam London

Kim Kardashian is going on an adventure this summer. Aside from a family trip to the Bahamas, she’s bound for another continent. “I’m going to Africa,” Kardashian revealed to us at the Reebok EasyTone event. “I’m going on a safari and to visit some schools with DeBeers, who is the largest diamond distribution company; they are sending us to the mines in Africa.” Will she be bringing home any bling for her mom and sisters? “Only if they aren’t blood diamonds,” she promised. ~Nola Weinstein

Just yesterday we found ourselves on a star tour in Hollywood riding past Michael Jackson’s Los Angeles home. It was apparently always Christmas at the Jackson home, where these two Christmas wreaths were still up six months after the holiday. He was scheduled to release his final album and begin his final tour, for which he received a multimillion dollar advance. The 50-year-old died of cadiac arrest. The Grammy winning artist, who was among the best of all time, has left us with classics like Thriller, Billie Jean, and Beat It. And so we say to his fans and family Remember the Time!

Where vintage thrift meets posh Madison Ave- that’s probably the best way to describe the 4th annual Divas Shop for Opera event that took place Wednesday evening. As chic women in modish hats and flashy jewels invaded the crammed racks of clothing it was stylish confusion. Were we at a consignment shop in Brooklyn or at a classy cocktail party Uptown? But then again, did it matter? With guests like Fern Mallis, Gillian Miniter and several Newhouses crowding the upstairs and downstairs spaces, you could find everything from a black Armani blazer, to a colorful Tucker top, to a pair of Louboutin shoes. The event helped raise money for new costumes for the New York City Opera (hence the name of the event). Displaying a variety of the most fashion forward designers at incredible discounts, you certainly felt like a true diva as everyone was eager to shop and dress up from head to toe for the cause. ~Ashley Grossman

The Resort 2010 collection from Sachin and Babi for Ankasa showcased a contemporary, chic and futuristic looking style. The pieces flowed seamlessly with flashes of metallic and a color palette that featured sharp silvers, crisp whites, rich blues, blacks and a hint of pink and purple. The husband and wife duo are known for their unique work with textiles and finishes and the collection didn’t disappoint. Pieces offered a wide variety of choice ranging from tight ’shiny’ pants and shorts, cropped trousers, beautifully detailed jackets and drapey dresses. We especially love the dash of glitz, which looks glamorous and sexy without going overboard. The collection is funky, yet refined and elegant; perfect for the modern fashionista.~Adam London

Cameron Diaz looked like a refreshing summer’s day at the New York premiere of My Sister’s Keeper. The actress wore a white one-shoulder J.Mendel dress and a Roger Vivier gold Pochette Prisme clutch. It’s been a busy week for Diaz, who aside from promoting the film just unveiled her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday afternoon.

Half the reason we love watching Sex and the City is for the ingenious fashion. We cry and drool over all the beautiful Jimmy Choos and mix and matched outfits that Carrie puts together. While we would love to think it possible for a writer to be able to afford those hefty labels, we know the brain behind her beauty is eccentric designer Patricia Field. We are all just squealing in excitement in anticipation of the movie sequel to see what amazing outfits Field will be dressing Carrie in. but we just might be let down. While Sarah Jessica Parker would like to tone down Carrie’s outfits due to the recession, Field does not agree. Because of their disagreement, Field might leave the set. Must the recession ruin everything?! Although we appreciate SJP’s concerns, we always knew Carrie’s closet was a dreamland of sorts, so let us keep dreaming!~ Arielle Sobov
