You tried to fit everything in one bag, but you just had to have that extra pair of shoes—and a couple of dresses just in case you have to attend something fancy. In the past, no problem. Now, you may want to think twice about packing that second bag.
American Airlines has announced this week that it’s going to start charging passengers $25 for checking a second bag to offset fuel costs. The airline joins Continental, Northwest, Alaska and JetBlue, who have all announced that they will be charging for a second bag this year. JetBlue is charging $20; the other airlines are also charging a fee of $25.
So pack light, or be prepared to shell out.
