Gimme Flats

I’m a bit of a shorty. I should probably wear more heels, but I love love love flats. Ballet, pointed toe, sling backs, sneaker skimmers, mary janes, whatever- I adore them all! I have found that springtime seems to offer the best in flats selection too. Cute prints, colors, embellishments, the list goes on and on. It’s typically pretty hard for me to resist buying a pair, they’re comfortable, practical and effortlessly chic (I don’t even need to mention Audrey, Jackie or Kate). And now that the bountiful season is upon us, I’m planning to hit the shoe departments and pick me up a few pairs! Here is proof from the Glam Network that I should never apologize for my flats fixation!

Check out Her Accessories’ article ”When Were Flats Not In Style?” My answer: NEVER!

Footwear phenom, Shoewawa has a whole section devoted to fancy flats! I’m in heaven!

Style Bakery’s Delicious Deals has the best 8 flats under $60.

I wish I had the cash to throw down for these Tory Burch flats, especially since California Style says they’re a must!

Just like Fashion Plate, I love Gap flats too. I just picked up a leopard pair!

Stay classy,

Annie

P.S. Want more flats? Check out Glam’s trendwatch! Celebs love them too!

Time For a Trip

As all the young college kids are packing up their bikinis and club gear, and are off to spring break, I’m seriously jealous. Outside my window the sun is shining, the blue sky is calling me; it’s time for a vacation! Sadly, my passport doesn’t have nearly enough stamps in it, and I’m determined to change that ASAP! Although my fist inclination is to head to a warm beach and included cabana service (mai tais please!), I need to expand my horizons, visit a location with culture, history and sites (and of course fabulous shopping). Several Network posts have caught my attention and it’s time to book a flight. So where should I go?

Designers Block just returned from a week in Paris. Her flea market finds and amazing photos make me want to hop on the Concord tonight!

How about Asia? Let’s Visit Asia has the scoop on low fares and great tours, but what I really want is a stay at the incredible Sofitel Phokeethra Krabi Resort in a Thailand rainforest!!

How could I resist Rome’s hidden gem, Testaccio Market. Shortcut to Europe has me excited about Italy. Ciao Bellas!

Maybe I will stay stateside. Here’s what’s tempting me…

Finally something remarkable in Washington, the flowers! The DC Traveler has lots of info on the White House Spring Garden Tours.

Possibly I’ll head to the other Washington, Seattle! Thankfully The Seattle Traveler has the latest scoop on local events and advice on what to pack!

Stay classy,

Annie

P.S. Are you headed to NYC, LA, Dallas, Nashville, or Mami? Check out Glam’s advice for what to pack!

P.P.S. Do you have other great travel spots I should check out? Let me know!

Fitness and Foods

As the ball dropped months ago, I resolved to eat healthy and get fit. I think it’s probably the third straight year I’ve made such resolution (sad!), and now, with the warm weather and boating season approaching I want/need/got to do this for real! I have checked out the health publishers across the Network to get me motivated, here’s what I found…

First steps should be improving my food choices, in particular, cutting out my Chinese take-out orders: Can you believe lemon chicken is equal to 3 McChicken sandwiches, plus a large coke!! Check out Nubella for more facts (and tips to lose weight permanently)!

I can’t believe how many calories are comsumed from drinks, I’m sticking to water! Check out ifit&healthy explains how to cut the calories!

Next is getting to the gym, breakin’ a sweat, and crunching my life away!! I’ve read up on fitness at QualityHealth and used their calorie calculator to figure out how many calories I can burn during various activities!

I am well on my way, now I just need to buy one of these to hit the treadmill in style! Thanks Shiny Shiny!

Stay classy,

Annie

P.S. Feel free to pass along your favorite fitness tips, recipes, and/or advice to stay motivated!

Naomi’s Sanitation Style

Sanitation Style has never looked more glamorous! Expecting nothing less from a Super Model, Naomi Campbell attended all 5 days of community service dressed in the finest designer attire- furs, stilettos, diamonds and designer bags (can one really scrub toilets in chinchilla)! Forget walking the runway, Naomi walked the parking lot (of NYC’s Department of Sanitation) attracting cameras and attention for her work wardrobe. Could work boots slung over one shoulder be a hot new trend? The media exposure may seem a bit ridiculous considering the week was punishment for throwing a cell phone (a Swarovski bedazzled one no doubt) at her maids head, but at least it was for a good cause in the end. Read more about it from the Glam Network Publishers

The Bag Snob has info on Naomi’s intended charitable cause.

Several major fashion magazines covered the community service week. Check out My Fashion Life for scoop on Naomi, the Editor (and video of what’s really going on with Terrence Howard)!

Open All Night has Naomi’s 6 stylish looks as well as her daily tasks and what she ate for lunch!

Finishing off the week in a sparkling Dolce & Gabana gown, I’m Not Obsessed covered the models final exit.

Stay classy,

Annie

P. S. What do you think about the hype around Naomi’s work week?

Sanjaya Insanity

In it’s sixth season, American Idol is still a definite winner for Fox ratings. Every season seems to have its share of scandals, from nude photos to auto theft, the show just breeds drama! This season, one contestant is getting a large amount of attention from the webworld. Now that we’re over Anteonella’s risqué photo shoots, Sanjaya Malakar is the latest headliner. Although I’m sure there are plenty of devoted Sanjaya fans out there (I’m trying to be diplomatic, and I actually know two fans personally), it seems that some of his votes have also been furnished by Idol adversaries and Howard Stern’s campaign with Votefortheworst.com. Is Sanjaya’s notoriety beginning to make a mockery of the series that has produced dozens of chart toppers? Is there anyone who appreciates Malakar for his talent more than his tresses? Here are a few humorous takes on the Sanjaya subject from across the Network

Gone Hollywood asks “Have You Had Enough?” If so, you have to see the hilarious video!

With versatile dos ranging from curly ringlets to flat-ironed layers, even a ponytail mohawk, Faded Youth has the Sanjaya hair review (and praise for the singers courage).

Bumpshack thinks Sanjaya is the new incarnation of Richard Simmons and has an amusing fan video!

Hollyscoop has coverage on the drama backstage (even Gwen Stefani is annoyed by Sanjaya’s attempt at No Doubt’s “Bathwater”).

What about his competition? Girls Talking Smack has full recap of Idol’s Top 10

Still wanting more Idol info? Check out the Idol Stalker!

Stay classy,

Annie

P.S. Who’s your favorite Idol?
