Self-Tanner Assistance

It’s getting to be that awkward time of year again. The sun is shinning regularly (in most parts of the country, my apologies to the snow bunnies) and the skirts, shorts and dresses are calling your name- so, of course one needs a lil’ bit of color to their skin. I’d love to take a vacation, lounge on the beach all day, soak up the sun, and get an authentic bronzed glow, but that won’t be happening anytime soon- for two reasons: 1. skin damage/cancer and 2.The only light I get during the day is from my computer screen (and tanning booths are simply out of the question, please refer to reason number 1). Solution: self-tanner. It’s a rather frightening subject, no one wants to be Oompa-Loompa orange, or even slightly streaky. Beauty Addict has a list of must have products in your faux tan arsenal!

The Makeup Girl recommends Tarte’s Sunburst, it “has bronzing beads that are encapsulated in moisture and burst on contact with skin, delivering exactly the right dose of sun-burnished glow.”

I am curious about an airbrush application, Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget has the scoop on the seamless technique of GlowFusion AirGlow and other bronzing products.

Even without the airbrush application, GlowFusion Face & Body Natural Protein Tan seems to be a winner. Beauty Hobby has a full review of the “revolutionary self-tanning mist.”

The Makeup Bag reminds readers that foundation/moisturizer with SPF is not enough protection, and claims nothing compares to La Roche-Posay. I’ve got to pick some up asap!

UPDATE: I recently bit the bullet and got a professional airbrush application. I have to say, I’m loving it and highly recommend it. A good tan makes you feel like you’ve dropped 10 lbs!
