What is your favorite item in your closet? Shoes, shoes, shoes.

Fill in the blank: I can’t live without… iced coffee and lipgloss. However, trying not to be sappy or materialistic—my gorgeous husband, my beautiful little boys, my family, God, and some of my wonderful friends (Elke, Christina, Steve). I also can’t live without money in the bank because how else am I supposed to feed my makeup addiction?

What’s your favorite gift to give? Gift certificates–less work for me and more enjoyable for the giftee.

If you could max out your credit card at one shop, which one? Sephora.

What’s one thing every woman should own? A decent pair of shoes.

What inspired you to start your blog/site? Darren Rowse of Problogger.net. He has been my inspiration from the beginning. I learned how blogging could help me remain at home with my kids while making money and doing something I was passionate about.

If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? Florida visiting my favorite person in the world–my grandfather who is 81 and recently had a stroke.

Who is your celebrity style mate? Believe it or not, I don’t pay much attention to the style of celebrities…I like to be my own person.

Do you have any hidden talents? I have rhythm and timing and can probably challenge J.Lo to a dance off.

An Apartment Pick-Me-Up

Last February, my roomies and I moved into a new, upgraded apartment. 5 months later our place is still looking a little unsettled/ impersonal. We’ve got the essentials: the big screen, the monochrome couch and arm chairs, a wood dinning table, blah, blah, blah. It’s all very “beige.” What we’re missing is the little touches of style- the art, the knickknacks, the humor, the color! I’ve perused a few of the Glam Network Publishers and spotted a couple lust worthy items for our place and crafty ideas to try myself. Here they are…

 NYLoft

I would love a sophisticated but eclectic look like this shot I found on Love Made Visible. In addition to this great find, Love Made Visable highlights tons of great design items from tabletops to stationary!

       kartell

Dwell always has amazingly creative and cool design ideas. Their site also features the hippest products, like these fun chairs, and where to get your hands on them.

   rug

Throwing down this yellow printed rug Oh Joy! featured would certainly take care of adding a burst of color. I love it!

               decals
Since my landlord doesn’t allow painting the walls, maybe decals could add some fun. Check out this 5.5. Designers one I spotted on Designer’s Block.

Clearly, I’ve got plenty of options and ideas to add a little life to our apartment.

 Stay classy,

Annie

It’s Cookie Time-Sweet Recipes

It’s about twenty minutes past my regular lunch time, therefore my stomach is a growlin’ and my lunch date can not get here soon enough! Considering this, I can’t help but scan a few of “the foodies” in the Glam Network in hopes of fending off my hunger pains (sadly, this has actually made me more hungry). Maybe it’s because I haven’t satisfied my sweet tooth lately (prepping for a dentist visit tomorrow), but it seems I can’t escape cookie posts, recipes and drool worthy photos. Here are a few goodies I plan to try soon (post tooth-filling appointment of course)…

Chocolate Bytes claims the Toll House chocolate chip cookies are the best of its kind, but Foodie Obsessed notes Jacques Torres’ recipe just won an “unscientific taste test.” I’m going to try out both and be the final judge!

                           Teddy Bear Cookies

How cute are these Teddy Bear Cookies I spotted on Domestic Goddess. They might be the perfect activity for my little cousins’ next visit!

I was not so sure about mixing oranges with dark chocolate, but then I remembered those chocolate treats that you slam on the table resulting in individual sweet  slices, resembling an orange. Why not try a sweet and tangy cookie like Baking Delights’ new creation-Orange Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies. (bonus points for anyone who knows what those chocolate slam treats are called)

                      icecreamsandwich

Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream AND cookies? I’m pretty much in heaven. Delish! Check out this recip I found on a vintage Chubby Hubby post!

You may not be Betty Crocker, but you shouldn’t be afraid to experiment! Even the “culinarily challenged” should give these treats a try!

Stay classy,

Annie

And if you’re thinking about selling your creations, Tammy’s got plenty of industry insight to get you’re production off the ground. Like Lesley, Allie and Teri did before her, Tammy has completed the Glam Live Questionnaire to let us in on her interests, talents and more…
