The Future Is Glam

When I started at Glam in August of 2005, I was just a doe-eyed college grad with no experience on the web, let alone a start-up company. Weeks before our launch at New York Fashion Week, the 18 of us in the CA and NY offices were working around the clock, 7 days a week and I was seriously wondering what I had got myself into! At that time Glam.com was geared for shopping and I was a merchandiser, the Glam Publisher Network did not exist and I was reading only 3 blogs on a daily basis. Following a very successful launch- complete with Glam Girls, pink gumballs and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilion exiting a Glam.com convertible outside the tents at Bryant Park- the Glam Team was off and running!

Oh my, how times have changed less than two years later! The Glam Team is still working insane hours, but many now have a new focus. And that focus would be… YOU- the 349 publishers/sites/magazines making up the amazingly unique and diverse mix that is attracting major advertisers and huge readerships. The passion and power of your independent voices, accompanied with Glam’s new vision for women online have made Glam Media the fastest-growing  of all online properties in the Top 100, surpassing iVillage to become number one for women in the US. Just 17 months after launch we’ve found over 17 million unique readers!
