People to Know

I am a bit of a biography buff. I love learning about people- their interesting beginnings, their achievements, hardships and insightful thoughts. Lately, I’ve discovered several personalities-of-interest thanks to the sharp talent scouts across the Glam Network. I thought I’d pass along the goodness. So here is the first installment of talented people you may not know…but certainly should!

        lanie

“I was killing myself creatively & I was really tired of putting so much time and effort into the success of somebody else. I wanted to do my own thing.”

Grooveeffect interviews the designer behind the “female brand with edge,” Lanie from Hellz Bellz.

                                cameron

“It takes a keen eye to distinguish what will be collectible vintage in 20+ years.”

Debutante Clothing features a profile on vintage fashion connoisseur, Cameron Silver. Check out DebLog’s profile as well as a link to his recent interview.

                           Robin

“…her ‘witty, closely observed essays that transform fashion criticism into cultural criticism.’”

Frillr highlights the Pulitzer winning Fashion Editor from the Washington Post, Robin Givhan. This clever journalist offers truly insightful commentary on all things style related, and as frillr notes, “if you haven’t been reading Robin Givhan’s fashion commentary…start now.”

                          Carmindy

“Enough with the lip liner. We have to stop. The ring around the mouth look is out, it’s old and it’s awful.”

You may remember her from What Not To Wear, but Lipstick, Powder ’n Paint lets you in on what Carmindy is like off set (plus a few makeup tips).

Greger

We said from the beginning that we would never be that company that goes to a garment trade show to buy what all the big dogs are buying. Instead, we try to be leaders instead of followers.”

I always count on Nylon for the latest on cool and Greger Hagelin is certainly that. Check out the mag’s interview with the creator of the “street fashion brand for international slackers.”

Stay classy,

Annie
