We caught up with Kristopher Dukes in New York during fashion week to see what she was up to and here’s what she had to say…

Tell us a little bit about yourself…

When most girls in LA were figuring how to become an extra on Saved by the Bell, I was figuring how to get paid to write. My elementary school scheming paid off — by age 15 I was contributing to local LA publications, and by 17 I was published nationally and received my first check (I think it barely paid for a soy latte). By 21, I’d been published in a bestselling book series, hand-picked to write for a public software company, and contributed to fashion bible WWD.

Tell us about Kristopher Dukes and how it got to where it is right now?

KRISTOPHER DUKES the dot-com, not the chick, started as my online portfolio. It morphed into a fashion blog a couple of years ago, and since has been featured in WWD, VOGUE.fr and mentioned in FORBES.com.

It took a lot of soy lattes.

How was your trip to New York during New York Fashion Week? Did you catch any shows while you were here?

It was lovely. I don’t really bother with the shows. They’re like adult Disneyland: too much wait for too little return.

Did you attend any parties during fashion week?

A party of two in my hotel room, with YouPorn.com.

So what’s next for Kristopher Dukes?

Landing a rich, first ex-husband.

Or further building my life of independence and freedom and making money stringing dirty words together.

Thanks for chatting with us!

Thank you. I like a lot of four-letter words, but “Glam” is really one of my favs.
