Be Glam
It’s my last day interning for Annie here at Glam and my last entry for this blog. Tomorrow, I’ll be flying home for a couple weeks to recharge for the beginning of school. And despite the long commutes and early mornings, I couldn’t have asked for a better internship. I’ve spent my summer reading all these fantastic blogs, writing about things I love, and learning about this crazy industry from the amazingly innovative people who make up the Glam team. It’s been incredible.
But, the biggest thing that I’m taking away from this experience (besides a hefty load of BART receipts), is what exactly being glam means.
Lots of people are too quick to dismiss it as having the latest runway outfits, or the trendiest clothes. But if you look at the pitiful states of some of the most affluent of celebrities such as Lindsay and Britney, having the cutest duds does not make one glam (The Bosh, Hollyscoop).
So what is being glam all about? I think that glam is about confidence. Glam is about loving life. Being glam is about paving your own path while minding others in your way. Being glam is about having an open mind and a caring heart.

Of course, glam is also about beauty, as long as what’s inside is just as gorgeous as what’s outside. Being glam is having the respect for your own body as well as respect for the other bodies on this earth. Glam is about fun! Glam is about family.
(Yoga Coffee Outlook, Beauty Addict, Lively Women, Hippy Shopper, One Haute Chic, Babylune)
Glam is about loving simple things as well as exquisite things. Glam is about appreciating timeless classics as well as nurturing creativity. Being Glam is staying on the cusp on things while letting old traditions mellow around us.

The Glam Network espouses all the values that its readers have. We’re smart, stylish, witty and aware. We’re beautiful, we’re passionate, we’re original and inventive! Better yet, we’re young and old! Modern and traditional! Fun and contemplative! We’re everything the woman of today is, and everything that I could hope to be.
So thanks for everything! It’s been such a rewarding trip!
Lots of love, Connie
