Andrea Kane, Editor of The Organic Beauty Expert has launched a project called “My Beautiful Troops” to supply our troops in Iraq with things Americans take for granted - bath and grooming products. She got the idea when her Husband, who is a Navy sailor stationed out in Iraq asked her to send over some soap and other bath products for him and the guys.

After a long day at work many of us enjoy a nice, long shower, perhaps even indulging in a hot bath filled with aromatic bubbles. Imagine being out in the field for weeks at a time, cramped in a small tank with aroma of quite a different kind. Local beauty blogger and perfumer Andrea Kane has started a campaign to bring a little beauty into the lives of our troops overseas with My Beautiful Troops.
“My husband is my bath product reviewer for my blog and when he left for Iraq, I think he became a little home-sick for the relaxing product,” said Mrs. Kane, a Navy veteran herself. “So in passing, in an email to von Natur, an organic beauty company based in Oregon, I mentioned that some of the guys would really love some soap and things. According to my husband, when the package arrived, the contents were gone within hours.”
Thus begins My Beautiful Troops. “I have always told my husband that he is my beautiful, strong man. The men and women who are in harm’s way have left their families, some because they were ordered, others because they want to do their part in keeping us safe. They are all beautiful and strong and anything I can do to bring some comforts of home into their day is just a small part compared to what they do.”
