Given the cat situation this week I’m having a hard time looking at life through my usually glass-is-half-full perspective. But sometimes the simplest things can remind me that life’s little pleasures, even contained in a nearly empty glass, can brighten the gloomiest days.
These flowers are a good example.
Dig the oversize vase, low waterline, and the tulips’ gangsta lean. And the antique plate adds nice definition to the composition. The combo looks so elegant yet requires almost no effort to arrange.
Definitely an easy way to work the last-minute floral artistry anytime you need insta-chic.

I absolutly love tulips. They are elegant, playful, and so very chic. Three traits I try to adhere to in decorating my apartment. I must run out now and buy tulips:)

i was watching somethingorother that advised to poke the bottom of tulip stems with a pin (or something similar) to allow the water to infiltrate further, thereby helping the tulip stand upright longer, rather than droop.
