My bathroom needs some serious updating. With very little storage, and even less style, it offers nothing more than boring pine cabinets, beige linoleum floors, and dark lighting. Unfortunately it is a rental so any major renovations are out of the question. Instead I am going to replace a few outdated accessories, add a little extra storage, and up the chic factor with some new shelving. However, one of my major challenges is budget, so the key is lots of panache without lots of money.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces that have made the final cut…and almost all of them cost under $100.

Umbra Conceal Towel Shelf
$19.00
Utilitieshome.com
A very cool way to store towels that doesn’t take up a lot of room, or need a mechanical engineering degree to install. Use several and arrange your towels by color for a cool design statement.

Clear Glass Jugs
$19.00-$49.00
West Elm
I love the clear glass because it is modern, simple and you can immediately see what is inside. Fill with cotton balls, Q-Tips, emery boards, etc. for a simple storage solution.

Tree Soap Dish/Ring Holder
$6.95-$7.95
CB2
Found twigs general molds that form the shape for these contemporary-with-an-organic twist accessories. I love the idea of pairing these with the sleek lines of the mirror (below) to add a layer of texture to the overall bathroom design.

RÃ…Ã…N Mirror
$24.99
Ikea
Created by Studio Copenhagen this simple yet sophisticated mirror has a removable glass panel that is dishwasher safe. A small shelf at the bottom offers space for a toothbrush, toothpaste, and all of the other necessities that you may need immediate access to morning, noon and night.

Hinoki Bath Mat
$100.00
Design Within Reach
This GORGEOUS bathmat is the ultimate expression of contemporary living. The Japanese Hinoki cypress wood is prized for its bacteria-resistant resin that prevents mildew and withstands humidity. Made by Designer Yoki Ueno Lewis, it is the perfect touch for my new bathroom!

Stainless Steel Wall Mounted Magazine Rack
$105.33
PureModern.com
I love magazine racks in a bathroom…much better than a damp pile of Elle and Vogue on top of the toilet. This particular rack will be the centerpiece of my new bathroom–shiny, contemporary and oh so sexy.
