It’s modern and sleek … but also really, really silly. I mean, come on! … We all use the potty. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. So there’s really no need to hide the toilet. It looks cold and uninviting and almost sterile. Can you imagine having guests over? … Go ahead and use the powder room — if you can figure it out!

Well, nevertheless, this design by Matteo Thun and Antonio is an interior-design award winner. Perhaps it would work in a spa. But at home I’m happy to stick with the traditional static fixtures. The drain offers enough of a disappearing act for me …
