Dessert Debate: Can Something Really Be Too Cute to Eat?

When it comes to dessert, I usually don’t understand the expression “too cute to eat.” If it’s made of chocolate, I’m gonna eat it. I don’t care how adorable it looks or how long it took to make. Sweets are  meant to be consumed and enjoyed. For example, chocolate bunnies… I maliciously go for the ears first. Marshmallow peeps? I just pop ‘em in my mouth in one merciless motion. There’s even a video of a two-year old me diving head first into a Cookie Monster cake. Tell me, who was the real monster? He had no chance.

But I just saw these little guys (Hi, little guys!) and my heart went pitter-patter. And this time it wasn’t the gooey inside or the delicate white-chocolate shell that had me swooning. It was – dare I blog it – the “awww” factor. These fudge brownie farm animals are just precious! I don’t know that I could pig out (get it?) on these itty-bitty baby bites without feeling guilty (and I’m not talking about my ever-failing diet). They really might be too cute to eat.

Gift Box Available at Williams-Sonoma, $29.50.
