When it comes to keeping track of your vital documents, you should have them all  safely stowed in one place. This carry all Portavault from Securita is crucial for when you need to evacuate the house with little notice and want to be sure you and have your important papers with you.  The last thing you want to do in an emergency is scramble to find what you need.

3. Watertight File Box, Available a Containerstore.com for $20.99
For files you must leave behind, these water tight files boxes are a lifesaver. They fit both letter and legal files and will keep your documents from getting destroyed.

4. Watertight Totes, Available a Containerstore.com for $14.99-$21.99 each
For all other items- linens, childhood memorabilia, photo albums, etc… watertight totes are a must.

5. Astro Super Flashlight, Available at Brookstone.com for $15
Its amazing how few people have flashlights in their apartment. This one from Brookstone is incredibly small but powerful with a battery life of 100,000 hours.
