DIFFA’s Dining by Design’s Spectacular Tabletops Arrive in San Francisco
By Glam Editors November 16,2012
The San Francisco DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) Dining by Design Gala on the night of November 15th boasted three floors of elaborate table installations from designers like Ethan Allen, Richard Chai, and Jonathan Adler. From those looking to get their design feet wet with a bit of interior revamping to seasoned décor addicts, the tables were sure to inspire. More creative table exhibits included a medieval themed dining area fit for KingRichard, a 50s style Miami Vice-esque setting complete with pink flamingos, and even a nod to Hitchock’s The Birds with a table surrounded by intimidatingly lifelike crows. More practical dining room decor included La Crema and Marc Blackwell’s autumn influenced design, as well as Richard Chai’s sleek and gorgeous Effen Vodka bar. Those who wanted to simply ooh and awe at the installations could attend a preview party on the 14th for $125 at the door, while those who wanted to put the amazing tables to use could dine the following night for $300-500 per ticket.
