I like to have a few go-to cookie recipes on hand that are simple to pull together and delicious. That way I have something to serve guests for dessert or to package up and give as a hostess gift.  Plus, my family loves it when our cookie jar has a treat waiting for them!

Below are three of my very favorite cookie recipes.

1. Irish Oatmeal Lace Cookies

The best thing about these Irish oatmeal lace cookies (aside from being simple to make) is how pretty they look. Serve them as a garnish in ice cream, dip them in chocolate, use them as sandwich cookies, or just enjoy them on their own.

2. Chewy Gingersnap Cookies

Chilly days and nights are warmed up by the flavorful goodness of these chewy gingersnap cookies.  Filled with spices and a touch of molasses, they are covered in sugar and come out of the oven with a chewy center and lightly crunchy exterior.

3. Lemon Sugar Cookies

One convenient aspect of these tangy lemon sugar cookies is that they only take about 30 minutes to make. Their pretty stripes of icing give an extra citrusy punch and they are perfect for when you need a quick and pretty dessert.
