Steal This Deal: Adorable Notecards On Sale

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you know how much I love a good bargain, so when Mahar Dry Goods (one my favorite online stores for children’s gifts) sent me an e-mail this morning announcing its first ever summer sale, I clicked through to the discounted stuff before I’d even wiped the sleep from my eyes.

Gotta love these animal silhouette cards.

They come as a set of 10 for a painless eight bucks and will be perfect thank-you cards for the birthday loot my daughter Viva is bound to acquire this month.

While you’re in the Mahar ‘hood, check out the blog, which just introduced me to a fantastic video of 250,000 superballs bouncing through San Francisco.

Check out the video here:

Reminded me of the time that my best childhood friend, Annabel Hertz, paid me a dollar to put a superball we found on the city’s Stanyan Street into my mouth. Those were the days.

I’ll post more L.A. adventures this week, along with the absolute best salad I’ve had this summer. Stay tuned!

Steal This Deal: The Softest Throw Ever Part II

Hey There. Just a quick note to let you know that after ordering eight of the aforementioned SpaPlush Blankets on Sunday, they arrived at my door in California a mere four days later (after a measly $25 for shipping)…and they rock!

I compared them cheek-to-cheek with my Kashwere blanket and all I have to say is lookout, husband! There’s a new lover in our bed and it’s called SpaPlush.

Word is the blanket gets even softer when you wash it, so I can honestly say this is a great deal–and gift for guys and girls. Yay! I don’t have to deal with shipping a return!

Ciao for now.

Steal This Deal: The Softest Throw Blanket EVER!

Yesterday I promised to divulge the best present of the year, so today I’m unveiling it here. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the SpaPlush Blanket.

Made by Spa Uniforms, Inc., which caters to the spa industry, it looks as though all of their colors, including a delicious sage green, orange, white, and chocolate brown, are available to anyone at wholesale prices.

I am a confirmed soft-bedding whore. So much so that we have king-size Kashwere blanket and pillowcases on our bed at home. But while stroking this 60-inch-by-80-inch cuddle monster on the massage table at the Lodge at Sonoma, it occurred to me that it made my kitten-soft stuff feel like sandpaper. After my massage I scurried to the gift shop to see how much a blanket of my very own would set me back. It was $84–too rich for my budget-minded, bedding-whore blood.
However, I am as resourceful as I am cheap, so I jotted down the details and found the company that makes them online. Guess how much it costs to dress you up in my new love if you go direct? A warm and fuzzy $40 per blanket.

I had to hold my breath so that I could buy up a bunch of these babies before I let the word out, but now that eight of them are safely en route, you might want to consider these top of your gift-giving standbys list. Or, if you like to play it safe, wait until I get my shipment. Once I open it, I’ll confirm on this blog that what they sent is indeed the snuggly decadent throw of my dreams and worth buying in bulk.
