Last week, we started a little game of Glam Tag! India-Jewel told us 10 things we should know about her super stylish self. She then tagged and challenged me to share my secrets! Well, here you go… 

10 RANDOM Things You Ought to Know About Me

1- I can’t get enough ketchup. If I order a burger and fries, you better ask for a second bottle. Seriously, I can down an entire Heinz 14-ouncer in one sitting.
2- I love the suburbs. Though I play the part of a big-time city party gal pretty convincingly, I miss the quiet, comfort, and cleanliness of the suburbs. (Lucky for me, my parents live on Long Island… Just a train ride away!)
3-  I rarely wear heels. I can’t bring myself to endure the pain and suffering that accompanies stilettos! I’m all about fun flip-flops, flats and funky boots!
4- One time I did karaoke with Dina Lohan… Okay, not with Dina Lohan… but she was at the same dive karaoke bar as me. Close enough.
5- I’m kinda sorta obsessed with Reese Witherspoon. (And I realize I’m seemingly “obsessed” with lots of celebrities… but Reese is next level for me. I think Ryan Phillipe is a fool. She is the total package. (Girl Crush!)
6- I’m a sucker for beach reads. Any book about a “young woman who moves to NYC, becomes a publicist and/or gossip columnist, parties it up with backstabbing socialites, and falls madly in love with a handsome-kind-hearted-trust-fund-having-Prince Charming” has my approval. Talk about life imitating art (minus that last part…)
7- I consider myself a cupcake connoisseur. Two words: Buttercup Café…. (It’s as good as Magnolia minus the mega long lines!) 
8- When I was five-years-old, I was on an HBO special called Live from Planet Earth. Okay, fine… I was supposed to be on it! At the last second, I chickened out, cried hysterically, refused to leave my mom’s side in the green room, and ate lots of candy instead.*
9- Sometimes I get jealous of my puppy. I love her dearly… but I get irrationally envious of her naturally blond hair and effortless panache. (See pic below.)**
10- My first celebrity crush was Michael Keaton.

*Many years later, I was “punked” on the MTV non-celebrity hidden camera show, Boiling Point. However, I chickened out then too, and refused to sign the release form… so I’ve yet to have my 15 minutes of fame! I guess some people were meant to be celebrities… Others were meant to stalk them.

With piercing green eyes, milky skin, those signature eyebrows and the most unbelievably shiny hair I’ve ever seen, Jennifer Connelly was a vision in Chanel. I assumed she’d be pretty, but I hadn’t expected that she’d be drop dead gorgeous!

Eager to snag a quick interview with her at a Marie Claire-hosted event, I politely inquired with her publicist if I could ask her client a few fashion and beauty questions. She looked at me with the discerning eyes of an overprotective PR flack and honored me with “two or three quickies.”

Certainly not the most talkative celebrity I’ve encountered, Jennifer’s one-worded answers had me cringing. I mean, come on pretty lady, your publicist graced me with a mere two questions – can you please give me something –anything -  to work with here!?! Regardless of her short-winded approach, I was able to coax a few answers out of her, even if it felt like I was pulling teeth (beautiful, perfect pearly-white celebrity-choppers though they may be.)

What are you wearing tonight?

Jennifer: Wearing a Chanel jacket and Balenciaga trousers

When do you feel most glamorous?

Jennifer: Uhhhh. Gosh…. Um. (Laughs.) Not at home, ever. Any place but at home. Not at home.

(On the Scene Commentary: That’s actually a refreshingly honest answer. I feel like most celebrities would fabricate a response about how they feel most glamorous while mulling around un-showered in their PJs, playing with their children.)

Any favorite designers?

Jennifer: You know I wear a lot of Balenciaga and I’ve been wearing some — you know, I never remember when I’m on the spot who my favorite designers are. Who do I always wear? Well you could probably figure that out quicker than I could!

Do you have a signature handbag right now?

Jennifer Connelly’s Publicist : “Weeeee don’t have just one.”

Jennifer: (Laughing and looking at her publicist who was giving me the universal “wrap it up” gesture.) Sorry. I don’t have just one.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is downtown cool. And he’s got sexy down to an art, with his slightly cavalier style and those beautiful brooding eyes. Wearing jeans, boots, a v-neck white t-shirt and a black jacket, he was casual, subtle, and so irresistible.

I chatted with the gorgeous guy, who was nonchalantly swigging his drink (I’m guessing a Jack and Coke,) at the NYC premiere of The Tudors. Here’s what he had to say:

Describe your personal style?

Well my personal style is very streamlined. Very comfortable. I don’t dress up in suits or anything like that very much. I’m very much jeans boots and a t-shirt type of fellow. That’s it. Whatever I’m comfortable in.

The fashions in Henry VIII’s days were clearly very distinct. What was it like wearing those extravagant costumes?

Fantastic. Because Joan Bergin, what she did is, she met me and then she made the costumes to fit my body. So it didn’t feel like I was wearing Tudor costumes, it felt like I was wearing modern clothes. In fact, some of the clothes I could have worn out. Certainly the jackets

What was it like on set working with everyone?

It was very, very beautiful working with everybody. I’m kind of upset that we won’t have Sam again this year. Because Sam Neil is such a treasure to any film. But I had a great time with Gabrielle Anwar. I had a great time with Henry Cavill, Jeremy Northam. They’re just fantastic people. Really good people.

What’s your favorite indulgence?

Cigarettes.

Pink and her hubby, Carey Hart, were very affectionate, this afternoon, lunching at Cipriani’s Downtown. They rotated between sitting outside and inside… all the while with remaining arm-in-arm. Pink was able to break away from her man momentarily to check her email/text messages/etc. from her handy PDA.

The NYC premiere of The Tudors was a very regal and firstclass fete. Co-hosted by Joanna Coles, the Editor-in-Chief of Marie Claire, the night was filled with cocktails, networking, namedropping and beautiful people.

Industry insiders and sophisticated celebrities packed into the Hearst building! Noteworthy attendees included:
 
Jonathan Rhys Meyers (so hot)

Joanna Coles (how AWESOME is her coat?!?)

Christine Baranski (you know her from virtually every sitcom)

And a slew of Showtime executives, producers and heavy hitters!

Following the soiree was a screening of the first episode of The Tudors… and, let me just say, I’m officially hooked. This is NOT the Henry VIII we know from history class. He is young, witty, sexy, charming and – yes – a little bit frightening.

I enjoyed the screening all the more because I had the lucky seat directly behind Jonathan Rhys Meyers… so I was able to observe, scrutinize and relish in his every twitch and giggle. Here’s some inside scoop…

Mr. Meyers sat between his publicist and his sweetheart, Reena Hammer… The two were not afraid to engage in some PDAs throughout the screening. At one point, Jonathan leaned over and kissed his young lady on the lips. (I kicked the chair in front of me - Jonathan’s seat- in envy…)

How about this little tidbit? Jonathan was squirming in his seat throughout the steamy sex scenes! (And there were quite a few of them!) I’m guessing he felt slightly awkward reliving these racy moments while next to Reena! I love it when celebrities show some insecurity… It proves they’re human after all!
