Believe it or not, there is an art – make that science – to subtle and sneaky celebrity stalking… I should know. I’ve spent many a night in NYC hovering in a corner watching a starlet’s every minor move, in an admittedly desperate attempt to snag some scoop.
So, imagine my delight at the prospect of celebrity sightings in the City of Angels AKA Tinseltown AKA La La Land… I came out to LA a few days early (in prep for the MTV Movie Awards) to meet with some industry hotshots, hit up the hotspots, and watch for some steaming hotscoop.
There are stars at every corner in Hollywood. Established and up-and-coming; movies and television; coked-out and rehab-bound… They come in all sizes, shapes, and forms; and it’s hard not to stumble upon one or two of these famous faces along the way. From Sunset to Robertson… West Hollywood to Brentwood. They’re here. Somewhere. You just have to know where to find them…
So, did I see/spy/stalk/or snag my very own celebrity today? Short answer is “yes.” (Nia Vardolos from My Big Fat Greek Wedding.) We actually formally met with a handshake and everything… (And, she’s the nicest/cutest little woman I’ve ever met… but that story is for another day, and another time…)
Here is a simple guide to some simple celebrity stalking in the town of Tinsel… And if at first you don’t succeed… well, there’s always tomorrow. Stay tuned to GlamScene this weekend. I’ll be hitting up parties, gift suites, clubs, bars, restaurants… (I’m exhausted even writing this!) … But I will leave no stone unturned.
A Brief Guide to Finding Celebrities:
The Coffee Bean at the corner of Beverly and Robertson…
The Starbucks (right across the street) at the corner of Beverly and Robertson…
Many a celebrity opts for an all-organic meal at the ever-popular Urth Cafe…
Might sounds silly… but celebrities need groceries too. And their supermarket of choice is Wholefoods. Hands down.
You might see a celebrity at the Pacific Design Center… A lot of the huge celebrity PR firms have offices there. The building is hard to miss. It’s huge and bright blue.
And then there’s always Robertson’s fabulous boutiques… Like Kitson. The one and only store that dares to have a velvet rope complete with bouncer. Only a certain number of people are allowed in the store at a time (especially if Paris is perusing.)
Lisa Kline is another stylish store with great fashions and a celebrity clientele…
Madison’s fantastic fashions pale in comparison to its famous frequenters…
Robertson also has fun and/or swanky restaurants loved by the rich and beautiful… The Ivy’s beautiful outdoor garden and picket fence make for a beautiful setting… No wonder it’s the absolute epitome of Hollywood see-and-be-seen hotspots. (Oh, and be sure to always request a table outside… that’s where the celebrities sit)
The Newsroom is another great celebrity sighting spot…
Check back on this post throughout the weekend… I’ll be updating this post with many more hotspots… (restaurants, stores, bars, hotels, clubs, etc.) and hopefully I’ll find some celebs along the way.
xoxo,
Lauren
