Tonight’s MTV Movie Award show was the ultimate Hollywood It event. With sizzling stars like Victoria Beckham, Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, and Paris Hilton posing and pining on the pink carpet, it was a see-and-be-seen spectacle (read mayhem!) 

Held at the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal Studio’s City Walk in LA, the venue was vast; the press line was long; and the starlets were skittish. While many ran the carpet without even a glimpse or a wave, a few stopped by to chat with Glam!

 Highlights (Some Lowlights) and a Couple Afterthoughts from the Red Carpet:

• Paris Hilton actually did go to the awards ceremony! Though she pretty much ignored the press, everyone was shocked to see her show face. (Jail can wait one more day.) I overheard a broadcast journalist saying that Paris said she hopes that others learn from her mistakes. (Hindsight is 20/20 Paris.) ***News Update: Paris Hilton practically headed straight to jail from the ceremony. She took her mugshot with full award show make up!**
• Cameron Diaz tried to pull a Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four and become the “invisible woman.” She tried to race off the red carpet before any press could snag her up.
• A fellow reporter and I tried to scream Josh Duhamel’s name simultaneously to get him to walk over, and answer a few questions. Instead, it back fired. We sounded less like professional journalists, and more like maniacal fanatics. He glared back at us… and shook his head.
• LC AKA Lauren Conrad tripped over her long dress that Yahoo voters chose for her.
• You know it’s going to be a difficult and slightly painful red carpet when you have to plead for an interview with Stephen Colleti from Laguna Beach.
• Hotshots like Jessica Biel, Chris Evans, and Victoria Beckham flew the red carpet and didn’t grace reporters with a measly quote or two.
• Amy Winehouse, who needs a hamburger STAT, stopped on the red carpet and picked something off of her tongue (presumably a hair from her bee nest hairdo and then continued down the rest of the carpet.
• Debbie Matenopolous complimented my dress!

A Few Higlights from the Show:

• Interesting note: Jessica Biel (along with Adam Sandler and Kevin James) presented the Best Kiss award. Interestingly, Cameron Diaz was nominated… Imagine if she had won! Awkward!
• Jessica Alba humbly bowed to Jack Nicholson as she presented him with the best Villian award.
• Will Ferell and Sacha Cohen Made Out Upon Winning the Best Kiss award… Like MADE OUT.
• Dane Cook presents the best spoof award while wearing head-to-toe denim gear/jean tuxedo.) Was his outfit its own spoof?
