It’s my favorite night of the year! Yes, the Oscars are on! And Glam has all the scoop on the the gals, the guys, the gowns, and the gossip. Stay tuned for live updates!
Heidi Klum is absolutely ravishing in a red Galliano gown.
Scoop from the show … (Latest updates added to the top!)
No Country for Old Men (and the Cohen bros) take home the ultimate prize for both best film and best direction! For the full list of winners, check out GlamBuzz.
Shocker. Daniel Day Lewis wins for Best Actor (There Will Be Blood). Duh.
Marion Cotillard is absolutely thrilled accepting the award for Best Actress (La Vie en Rose). The stunning star was gushing on and on thanking (and re-thanking) the Academy. She is really charming … and her vintage gown is exquisite.
Javier Bardem accepts his award for Best-Supporting Actor (No Country for Old Men) in Spanish. All I could make out was “Mama, this is for you.”
Tilda Swinton wins Best-Supporting Actress (Michael Clayton.) She tells the audience that she’s giving the Oscar to her manager. (Doubtful.) She thanks George Clooney. Obviously. I thank George Clooney everyday. Just cause. Don’t you think Ms. Swinton could use a little bronzer … perhaps a fake bake?
I take my aforementioned statement back. Jon Stewart is actually pretty hilarious. I wasn’t digging his hosting style at first … but he’s grown on me. He gave a fake award to the “best pregnant star at the awards show.” Naturally, the nominees were Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman, and Cate Blanchett. Well there’s a punchline: “And the award goes to … Angelina Jolie! … She couldn’t be here tonight. It’s tough to get 17 babysitters on short notice.” Oh, and now Jon is playing Nintendo Wi tennis on the stage. (Which is actually super-fun, FYI.)
Some people look really great pregnant. Cate Blanchett is one of those lucky ladies. She is radiant presenting the award for art and set direction. I can’t say I love her boho-inspired gown, but I’m never head-over-heels in love with her fashion choices. (But her unique, eclectic style always works for her.)
How are we feeling about Jennifer Hudson’s white gown? … I’m not feeling it.
I’m not sure I’m lovin’ Jon Stewart as a host this time around … I miss Billy Crystal. I require a big musical introduction!
Amy Adams gives a charming performance singing “Happy Working Song” from her film Enchanted.
Some red-carpet gossip, snippets, and scoop …
Um, did Regis call Javier Bardem “Xaviar?!?” He was doing a little backstage and front-of-house reporting for ABC … And he seriously just goes “Hey look! There’s Xaviar.”
Juno’s Ellen Page (who’s nominated tonight for Best-Actress) talks about the why people have adored her flick “… mainly it’s really sincere and honest and genuine. And it has a sense of optimism mixed with truth!” I’ll toast to that. (I’ll toast with Ellen Page, in fact. The young star just turned 21 last week!)
Oh wow. Cameron Diaz is a vision in dazzling Dior! Her tiered baby peach/off-white gown is simple and elegant. She tells Regis of her former co-star “there’s only one Daniel Day Lewis.”
Amy Adams says she’s a bit nervous about performing a song from Enchanted tonight at the Oscars! I LOVE her! If you haven’t seen that movie … shame, shame, shame on you!
WHAT is Daniel Day Lewis’s wife wearing?!?! What is that dress? Is that a dress? Is that a curtain? Is it a table cloth? Of that, I can’t be sure.

“I have no idea. Who can explain a phenomenon? .. It feels great to be part of a film that people rush up to you on the street and say ‘I LOVE your movie!’- Jennifer Garner talks about the public’s reaction to Juno. Though I doubt people are stopping her on the street while she’s out with Violet to chitchat about movies. I’d be too busy staring at Ben …. She also says “Rachel Zoe gets me out of my jeans.” Well done Ms. Zoe. Garner looks absolutely gorgeous.
The crowd of on-lookers go crazy for Hannah Montana AKA Miley Cyrus. She looks very mature for her age in a classic red gown.
Ooo we just got a quick peek at Jessica Alba’s red carpet look. Phenomenal! She really knows how to rock the baby bump in an eggplant-colored Marchesa gown.
Javier Bardem says “hola” to all of his friends watching the awards in Spain. (At 1 AM.)
This is only George Clooney’s second time at the Oscars!! Who knew!!?? Chatting with Regis Philbin, Mr. Clooney mocks and pokes fun at himself. He’s got such a great sense of humor. I heart him. (He’s got one lucky girlfriend. I just hope that she can get this bachelor to settle down.)
I always forget that Casey Affleck is married. He seems like a such a cute little boy. I wanna pinch his cheeks. (And meet his brother). The young actor who hit the red carpet with his wife is nominated tonight for Best-Supporting Actor. (Gone Baby Gone.)
Hilary Swank is wearing a gorgeous Versace feathered gown. And her diamonds aren’t half bad either! She’s telling Ryan Seacrest about Israeli martial arts. (She’s a bit tough, isn’t she?) Apparently, she practices just for fun. Admit it. She could kick your butt.
Viggo Mortensen didn’t seem particularly friendly during a brief interview with Ryan Seacrest. (I don’t get why cranky actors even bother agreeing to give interviews.) They should suck it up. It’s part of the whole fame gig!
Woah. Katherine Heigl just past by. She looks like a bombshell blonde in a stunning sweeping red gown. I think she might be wearing a little too much blush (bronzer) though. She tells Ryan about running into Fergie and Josh Duhamel during her honeymoon.
