Matthew Broderick at the Tribeca Film Festival

Who didn’t have a crush on Matthew Broderick back in the day? … He made nerdy cool (long before Liz Lemon and Jim Halpert took on the task) as the very lovable Ferris Bueller. And while he’s no longer an adorably dorky teenager, he’s still got an irresistable boyish charm. We caught up with Mr. Sarah Jessica Parker at the Tribeca premiere of his film Finding Amanda, and chatted about the flick which co-stars Brittany Snow as a young prostitute.

What attracted you to this film?
I thought it was a nice script – I liked it. I like the guy who wrote it, Peter Tolan, and I thought it was a good part.

It takes place in Sin City? Any scandalous on (or off) set stories?
I wish I did. But we shot in L.A. at the race track and pretended we were in Las Vegas.
No gambling, no Vegas.

What are your expectations for the film beyond the Tribeca Film Festival?
I don’t have any expectations. I hope people like it and see it. I hope some people see it. I haven’t seen it myself. But we all loved making it, and I hope it’s fun to watch.

As a native New Yorker, how does it feel to be at the Tribeca Film Festival?
I’m very happy. I’ve been in New York my whole life, and it’s very nice. This is good for New York I think to have something like this – almost feels like L.A.

Made of Honor Chat

Emily Nelson is too cute. The bubbly, peppy actress was posing on the pink carpet at the Made of Honor premiere - snapping pictures with her own digital camera and flashing her mega-watt smile! We asked her a couple quickie questions. Here’s what she had to say …

emilynelson.JPG

Tell me about your character in Made of Honor?
Well I play Hilary. And I’m one of Hannah’s best friends from camp – so we’re childhood friends. And my character has decided that she’s going to go to Scotland and get a man and she’s going to get into address that’s much smaller than what she usually wears. So she decides to go on somewhat of a crash diet and essentially spends the entire movie falling over things, falling asleep. She essentially doesn’t eat. So she’s got her own thing going on.

What’s your favorite thing about wedding season?
I think the parties! You know I really love – of course I love ceremonies – I find them very touching, and it’s really an honor to watch people start the rest of their lives together. But then the parties afterwards are really fun because there’s friends and relatives from all over the place that you usually wouldn’t meet. And you know you go to a wedding of someone you care about and you get to meet their extended family – which is really a treat.

Have you ever been a bridesmaid? Any horror stories?
Oh sure. I’ve been a made of honor a couple of times. Well, no. luckily all of my girlfriends are very down-to-earth ladies so they weren’t bridezillas by any means. So everything went very smoothly we were very low-key about it.

What’s your wedding day style tip?
Look nice but not too nice. It’s not your day. You’re just there to support.

We Interrupt This Tribeca Coverage …

wedding.jpg

made_of_honor_wallpaper

Glam was on the pastel pink carpet last night for the Made of Honor premiere … We chatted with the even-more-handsome in person Patrick Dempsey and the super-adorable Michelle Monaghan (stay tuned for interviews and picts!) And while these two A-list celebrities are the stars of the movie, they weren’t the main attraction of last night’s festivities.

A real-life, truly-in-love couple got hitched at the premiere! Glam had a front-row seat at the sweet ceremony! Check out these not-so-professional snaps (clearly there’s no future in wedding photography for me)!

moh-001.jpg

Can you imagine the person marrying you and your betrothed reciting from a teleprompter?!?! Such was the case last night … But this was no ordinary wedding. ET’s Mary Hart was ordained so that she could marry the couple! (Okay, so imagine this … You’re in love. You’re getting married. You plan and plan, and then decide: “Heck, forget this! I’m entering the ‘Get Married at the Premiere’ contest!” You win. And then one day you’re walking down the aisle/carpet among crowds of paparazzi, people are screaming, hooting, and hollaring, you pass Patrick Dempsey along the way, and you hear the distinct voice of one Mary Hart saying “Dearly Beloved”!?!? Crazy, no?)

moh-002.jpg

Here comes the bride, Ms. Michelle Golightly! The blushing beauty wore a lovely Selia Yang gown. She looked so smitten with her soon-to-be hubby Shaun Bollinger. (Don’t you just love all the publicists in the background?!?) Once again, I ask you to picture yourself in this scenario. It’s your big day, and a bunch of high-heel wearing, credential-toting PR peeps are buzzing about in the background!)

moh-003.jpg

Michelle Monaghan looks stunning in a black Monique Lhuillier gown. She and Busy Phillips watch the ceremony.

moh-004.jpg

A head-to-toe fuschia-clad Mary Hart marries the happy couple! … Behind her? A full-string orchestra!

moh-006.jpg

Michelle Monaghan and Patrick Dempsey pose with the bride and groom. When Patrick introduced himself to the bride (post-ceremony,) she flipped out and was all giggles!

… Hope her new hubby wasn’t too jealous.

Stay tuned for more MoH coverage on Glam.com!

The War, Inc. Premiere @ Tribeca

War, Inc. is one of the most entertaining movies I’ve seen at the Tribeca Film Festival. It stars John Cusack, Marisa Tomei, and - believe it or not - Hilary Duff. The political satire takes place in Turaqistan, a war-torn country occupied by an American company trying to monopolize opportunities in the ravaged nation. The flick is filled with subtle (and some not-so-subtle jokes) poking fun and making light the confused (and ridiculous) world we live in today.

H. Duff plays “Yonica” an over-sexed Turaqi popstar (who happens to be tone-deaf).

Marisa Tomei, who we don’t see enough of these days, plays a hard-ass journalist trying to unlock the scandals of Turaqistan.

And while I couldn’t report from this red carpet (because I was at the premiere of Made of Honor — stay tuned for that! — I have one question: WHERE WAS JOHN CUSACK?!?)

Rising Star: Ethan Peck

Ethan Peck seems like your average NYU film student. And that’s probably because he is … Oh, except for the fact that he’s already gotten his big break. The up-and-coming actor stars in Tennessee with Mariah Carey and Adam Rothenberg. We chatted with Peck on the red carpet of the Tribeca Film Festival premiere.

 ethanp1.jpg

How does it feel to be at the Tribeca Film Festival?
It’s amazing. It’s really overwhelming.

So this is your first red carpet ever, right? Is it everything you expected it to be and more?
It has so far exceeded it – it’s unreal. This is ridiculous. I’m like a student by-day. And this by early evening.

What was it like working with Mariah Carey?
It was great. Unexpected. I guess I tried to go in without expectation. But she is such a hard worker. I can’t imagine the stress she endures to be honest. But, yeah, it was great. And we got it done. And I’m here now, and it’s pretty unbelievable.

Mariah Tells Us About Her Passion Project Tennessee

This is something very close to my heart. I just feel like everything happens for a reason. Some people come into our lives and we take a chance – someone like him.” … (Mariah tells us about her film and passion project Tennessee. The bombshell beauty walked the red carpet arm-in-arm with director/producer Lee Daniels (he’s the “someone like him” she’s referring to!)

[I play] Krytal. She’s trying to figure out who she is and what she has to say to the world – that was my part in the movie!” - (Mariah talks about her role in Tennessee co-starring Adam Rothenberg and Ethan Peck.)

A Few Quickie Videos From the Premiere of Tennessee

The red carpet was jam-packed for the Tribeca premiere of Mariah Carey’s movie Tennessee … Mimi, Edie Falco, Adam Rothenberg, Ben Kingsley, and other stars were there for the paparazzi-packed event. Check out a few quickie/shaky videos that show all the action behind the VIP red velvet ropes! (Have a bit of patience … The video player might take a moment to load!) And stay tuned for more scoop …

What Is An Upper-East-Sider Doing in Tribeca? …

That was the question last night at the premiere of Killer Movie … Of course the answer is sorta obvious. Ms. Leighton Meester stars in the horror flick which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival.

The movie is about a reality television show shoot that goes terribly wrong when the crew is stranded in a remote town. A killer (obvs) is on the loose and hunts them down one by one. (It sounds funny.)

You know you love me xoxo

GlamScene Spotting: Ms. Bernadette Peters

We asked Broadway legend Bernadette Peters four quick questions on the red carpet of I Am Because We Are … Here’s what she had to say.

bernadette.JPG

What brings you here tonight?
I love the Tribeca Film Festival. It’s a big part of NYC. It’s exciting. This is my first time. I’m usually on stage or Broadway or something.

Well, speaking of … When will we see you on the stage again?

Well, you’ll be seeing me on television around promoting a children’s book I wrote to benefit animal shelters.

That’s a cause you’ve always been very out-spoken about? Why do you align yourself with this cause?

I just always loved animals growing up. When we lost our golden retriever we went to the city pound and saw that they need help. All the animals that are in there – very, very, very adoptable animals. They’re here to make our lives better. And that’s what people need to understand.

And what are you looking forward to most about seeing Madonna’s movie tonight?
I love the creative process. She directed and made this movie, and I think it’s very excited. I can’t wait to see what it is about.
