Whitney Port looked sweet and chic as ever on the green grass carpet at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS A Time for Heroes event. We chatted with The Hills’ classy fashionista about work, fashion, and the fabulous cause that brought stars together.

What brings you here today?
I’m here to spread the word, to get the awareness out, and also to work in the Biolage booth – we’re decorating pots.
What are you looking forward to doing today here at the carnival?
I don’t know what to expect. I heard it’s fun. The ferris wheel looks fun. And hopefully some good food. I’m pretty hungry.
What’s the story behind the rumors that you’ll be getting your own MTV show?
Yeah, I don’t know. I don’t know what the story is. I’m not 100 percent sure. I haven’t signed a contract. I haven’t gotten a presentation of it – would it be. So we’ll see. It could be fun. You know, I’ve always stayed a bit private so it could be a bit scary. But I’m open to it.
Any fabulous summer plans?
No. I’ll just be filming – working. I wish!
What’s your favorite thing about the summer?
I think just the sunshine and it makes everybody hapy. It gets the endorphins going so everyone’s in a good mood.
And your beauty rule of thumb for the summer?
I think that the most important thing is to just wear sunscreen. That’s the only thing I really change about it.
Favorite guilty pleasure TV shows …
When American Idol is on I watch it. And Top Chef. And Project Runway.
Advice for anyone trying to break into the fashion industry?
Try to find an internship early with a fashion company early in high school. And then once you’re in college you will know people and can make connections.
