24/7 glitz, glitter, and glam? Heck, no! It’s definitely not all red carpets, premieres, and limousine rides ‘round town. Celebrities are just like us! (Minus the aforementioned perks.) They, too, engage in everyday, mundane tasks. They go to the grocery store, pump their own gas, and pick up after their dogs. They go to the gym, play at the park, and eat fast food!

We just don’t focus on the simple, not-so-chic happenings of Hollywood’s hottest. Instead, we spotlight their professionally teased tresses and their stylist-selected ensembles. Well, not anymore! Adam Brody knows what it’s like to endure a brutal breakup. After all, he and Rachel Bilson were the OC’s real life cute couple. Everyone thought they’d be the exception… the down-to-earth young love that would actually last. (And by everyone… I mean me.) But, alas, “everyone” was wrong.

So it’s not much of stretch for Adam to play a heartbroken and clueless young man on the quest for true love in the film The Land of Women. He knows how to give those convincingly sad puppy eyes from experience.

But it is quite an achievement for him to be catapulted into A-list territory. Starring opposite established actors like Meg Ryan and Olympia Dukakis, Adam is no longer a lanky teen with a crush (the OC) or the comedic sidekick with some silly lines (Mr. & Mrs. Smith.) Nope. He’s quite the opposite. He is leading man material.

So, I’m honoring Adam Brody as my first official It Guy of the month! (We’ll call him April’s It Guy … Hey, better late than never!)
