Jennifer Aniston has been everywhere this week, calling Angelina’s actions “uncool,” in the pages of Vogue, and now she’s popped up in NYC with boyfriend John Mayer. The two had dinner at hotspot La Esquina and then made their way to GoldBar (Aniston signed autographs and hugged fans!) where they danced the night away. Mayer even spoke out Thursday night about the woman in his life. “It’s really nice to have somebody in life have your back,” Mayer told PEOPLE. “That girl knows me … so whether I go to bed alone or not, to have somebody who knows you in this world, that’s a really nice thing.” – Erin Dustin

With two movies on the horizon, Jennifer Aniston not only graces the cover of the December issue of Vogue, but tells all when it comes to Brad Pitt, the new man in her life John Mayer, and what it means to be 40 in Hollywood.

On the end of her marriage – “I mean, in the end, we really had an amicable split. It wasn’t mean and hateful and all of this stuff that they tried to create about Brad can’t talk to Jen and Jen can’t talk to Brad because this person won’t allow it. It just didn’t happen. The marriage didn’t work out. And pretty soon after we separated, we got on the phone and we had a long, long conversation with each other and said a lot of things, and ever since we’ve been unbelievably warm and respectful of each other. Whoever said everything has to be forever, that’s setting your hopes too high. It’s too much pressure. And I think if you put that pressure on yourself—because I did! Fairy tale! It has to be the right one!—that’s unattainable.”

On John Mayer – “We care about each other. It’s funny when you hit a place in a relationship and you both realize, we maybe need to do something else, but you still really, really love each other. It’s painful. There was no malicious intent. I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that’s where it is.”

On turning 40 – “I’m not saying I’m 40. I’m 30-10. I don’t feel 40. I don’t know what it means. I just know that all of a sudden it’s something that’s in print next to my name. AND NOW SHE’S 40. It almost feels like some sort of badge of honor in a weird way.”

John Mayer looked debonair and dashing on the red carpet at VH1′s Save the Music Gala. The super-cool crooner was clad in a chocolate-brown velvet suit, and a pinkish-purple satin tie. The gorgeous guy humored reporters with a few clever quotes…

When asked who his current main-squeeze is Mayer replied, “Aunt Jemima – and I can’t wait to get home and get me some flap jacks!”

He did tell us about his favorite song though. “Alicia Keys – her new song is, in my opinion, the best song in five or ten years.” When asked to give his opinion on Britney Spears’ new single, Mayer lunged forward and sarcastically replied “It’s funny you should ask…” He shook his head gave a “how am I supposed to know” expression, and then walked away waving.

Looks like the bubbly and adorable Cameron Diaz isn’t taking a break from filming her comedy, What Happens in Vegas, to celebrate her 35th birthday… but she is partying with the cast and crew! Cameron received balloons, cards, and presents on set today!

We can’t stop raving about how good she’s been looking lately. (Yes, we know she’s rich and can afford prettifying products… Yes, we know she got a nosejob… Yes we know she’s in a relationship with John Mayer and/or Bradley Cooper and has that new romance twinkle in her eye.) Nevertheless, the blonde bombshell is doin’ something right.

A shaggy-haired and ”scruffilicious” John Mayer made a coffee-stop at Starbucks this afternoon before heading to the gym in New York City. The sarcastic and sexy (in my opinion) singer is taking on Manhattan with his rumored new GF, Cameron Diaz.

COMMENT CORNER… Join the Debate - I have an ongoing battle with my friends and colleagues alike: Is John Mayer Hot or Not?!? As previously alluded, I think he’s super swoon-worthy. (Especially in this pic!) The “tuggable” hair (yes, I went there,) the laid-back style, the scrumptious stubble… what’s not to love? There’s even something to like about his dorky backpack… I mean, if he can ditch a gal like Jessica (break-up bombshell,) snag a dame like Diaz (cute commitment-phobe,) well then he’s certainly good enough for me (perfect in every way girl-next door!)

P.S. Doesn’t he sort of look like a hotter version of Pacey from Dawson’s Creek?!?! Right???

WHAT: Pastis. It is the NYC brunch spot. The shabby chic 1930′s-esque Parisian bistro where downtown Manhattanites hobnob with the visiting L.A. elite- where even the skinniest celebrities and models indulge in an order of sinfully delicious steak frites. (And who could blame ‘em? Those downtown divas deserve a yummy reward for braving the wobbly Meatpacking streets in their five-inch stilettos and mini-skirts!!!)

WHERE: Duh. Pastis. 9 Ninth Avenue, New York, NY 10014.

WHO: Pastis’ VIP diners include: Sienna Miller, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Bosworth, Ashley Olsen, Gwen Stefani, Bono, Penelope Cruz, Uma Thurman, and Ashlee Simpson, to name a few.

Miss Jamie Lynn Sigler goes there before hitting up the Gansevoort. Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa go there to lunch with the kiddies. Liv Tyler even hosted her wedding reception brunch there! Jessica and Nick used to brunch there. (I suppose Nick takes Vanessa there nowadays. And maybe Jess eats there with John!)

Oh, and look for Pastis featured regularly on Sex & The City repeats…But I digress!

WHY: Point is… This place is perpetually packed with pretty people… so bring your autograph book (or perhaps a digi-cam is less “touristy”) and sport your skinny jeans and ankle boots. You’ll fit right in! And, yes, do order the steak frites. They’re the best.
