Mary-Kate Olsen… Hot or Not?

Looks like Mary-Kate Olsen didn’t take PETA too seriously (as usual).

The fur-loving fashionista (though that term is currently under scrutiny in my book) met up with pals for a quickie lunch in the West Village on Saturday. Besides desperately needing shampoo, MK wore clumsy boots under skinny jeans, a questionable green satin shirt, and a fur coat. Do you LOVE or LOATHE her look? P.S. Does anyone else think she has a wannabe Diane Keaton thing going on with those shades?!?…

PETA Attacks the Olsen Twins (With Mean Words)

So don’t get me wrong here. I absolutely adore animals. I do. And I also frequently post about PETA’s positive celebrity-endorsed messages (see here, here, and here)… But sometimes PETA’s ad campaigns disturb me. Like, seriously disturb me. Like, they give me full-out nightmares. Which, I suppose, is what they’re hoping for. Nevertheless, I really don’t like their vicious attacks against specific celebrities. It just doesn’t seem effective… (or classy). What do you think? Here’s their campaign attacking the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen… (Oh, and this is pretty mild. The rest of their “Trollsen twins” campaign is giving me a bit of a panic attack. Check it out HERE… Um, the dead cartoon animals?!? Not cool).

P.S… Don’t you think they should have used photos where they’re actually wearing fur? Maybe that would be more effective.

P.P.S. I admit part of me (but just part) is further horrified because people frequently tell me I look like an Olsen. No joke.

Love or Loathe: Ashley Olsen’s Summer Ensemble

On Saturday night Ashley Olsen hit up James Taylor’s concert at Social at Ross in the Hamptons. Ashley, the chicer of the Olsen twins, was wearing a unique and edgy ensemble: loose-fitting blazer; high-waisted, yet ethereal glittery skirt; thick leather belt, and black knee-high gladiator/art-deco/sandal-boot heels.

Now, I’m asking you: LOVE IT OR HATE IT? (Or do you just love hating it?) I hate to admit that love it! No matter what you think, I know you’ll agree that it’s much better than her sister’s outrageous outfit that evening. Comment on GlamScene with your thoughts.

P.S. Also at the event was Mischa Barton, Christie Brinkley, James Blunt, and other famous fans!

Mary-Kate at the Premiere of Weeds

How do they do it?… Pick an Olsen (any Olsen.) Dress her in a ratty men’s tee-shirt. Pair it with a couture skirt and big sparkly jewels. Throw a designer bag on her wrist, and knot her hair into a big messy bun. Shocking result: instant glamour.

Mary-Kate Olsen looks chic, stylish, and edgy-as-ever at the Showtime premiere screenings of Weeds and Californication. MK is making her return to the small screen this season in Weeds alongside Mary Louise Parker.

The Celebrity Sweet Life: Starbucks

What: Starbucks is the coffee “hot” spot on the celebrity scene. (Best part is: you don’t have to be famous to frequent the joint!)

Who: Just about everyone, but here are a few highlighted Stars who love their Starbucks… Check out photos below!

• Mary-Kate and Ashley take turns going on coffee runs. The legal ladies are frequently photographed holding two cups of the “Bucky-boo” brew.
• Nicole Richie might have to switch to decaf soon. The caffeinated-cutie loves her Starbucks, but wouldn’t be able to drink the energy-boosting drink if she, indeed, is pregnant. (But, again, that’s a sketchy theory.)
• Jessica Biel goes on runs with her dogs to Starbucks.
• Marcia Cross needs her coffee to make it through the day with twin babies. See photo here.
• Kate Hudson needs her morning joe to kick her toned butt into gear.
• How many times have we seen Britney Spears alternating sips of her Starbucks frap with a bag of Cheetos.
• Lindsay Lohan might have to lay off the booze, but she maintains her love for the brews.
• Amy Winehouse might need rehab for her Starbucks addiction.
• Karl Lagerfeld prefers his “talle” coffee iced.
• Kiki Dunst opts for the caffeine-free frozen fruity drinks.
• Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner frequent the Brentwood franchise.

When: Morning, noon, and night.

Where: The better question is… Where not?!?!

Why: Because these are busy people. They need that energy boost to get them through paparazzi-packed days. (And because they probably get it for free.)

21 Years of MK&A

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen turned 21 yesterday! They kept it under the radar and celebrated with a low-key dinner party at the Chateau Marmont, according to People.com. (It’s so refreshing that this sweet twosome has never followed in the footsteps of many other booze-crazy, slap-happy Hollywood starlets.)

These gorgeous girls have grown up right before our eyes. From Full House babies to couture-clad legal ladies, these twiggy twins have made quite an impression in their mere 21 years in the spotlight.
