“Back in the day, I had a ‘frenemy’ who, as it turned out, was pretty hell-bent on taking me down. This person really did what they could to hurt me. I was deeply upset, I was angry, I was all of those things you feel when you find out that someone you thought you liked was venomous and dangerous. I restrained myself from fighting back. I tried to take the high road. But one day I heard that something unfortunate and humiliating had happened to this person. And my reaction was deep relief and … happiness. There went the high road. So, why does it feel so good to hear something bad about someone you don’t like? Or someone you DO like? Or someone you don’t KNOW? I once asked the editor of a tabloid newspaper why all of thes tories about a famous British couple had a negative bent. He said that when the headline was positive, the paper didn’t sell. Why is that? What’s wrong with us. I asked the sages to shed a little light. Here’s to washing our mouths out with soap.” - Gwyneth Paltrow posts about an unidentified “frenemy” on her lifestyle website GOOP.

I think I put my parents through some grief. When I was 17, I was too demanding of freedom; I wanted an unnecessarily long leash. Don’t push it too hard, because you’re going to need your parents in college when you’re broke! … I’m not really into partying. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve gone to a club. But I’d much rather be with my close friends at home or a concert, or on a trip. I’ll go dancing with my grandma. She likes to cut a rug!” - Zac Efron answers fans questions in People Magazine.

I’ve been out for a bit and completely and purposely out of the loop so this might be old news by now, but I figured I’d give it a little mention anyways. I just caught Lindsay Lohan’s faux eHarmony video on FunnyorDie.com.

Like or despise her, you gotta give the girl an itty bit of credit for making fun of herself. If you’ve been living under a rock (or lounging in the sun — like me!) and haven’t seen it yet, watch HERE.

I’m back! And despite being seriously jet-lagged from my six hour time difference, I’m feeling pretty calm, cool, and collected — a week’s vacay can do that to you! Anyway, I’m still catching up on all the scoop and gossip … Mel Gibson getting a divorce, the Obamas getting their dog, etc. etc. etc. But I thought I’d leave you with a funny little tidbit …

Project Runway winner Christian Siriano was on my flight last week. He, of course, was sitting first class while I was cramping and complaining back in coach. There was a security concern, so everyone had to de-board the plane while they tended to the issue in question. We were left waiting for an hour without so much as a clue. Now, I can’t complain. I’d rather be safe than sorry … If there’s a potential problem, go ahead and take your time. If I miss my connecting flight, so be it. In the end it’ll all work out and everyone will keep safe and sound. That’s my personal credo. Apparently, Mr. Siriano doesn’t share my ‘c’iest la vie’ view. As we re-boarded, I caught him and his friend ranting and raving to the gate attendant. Now I’m paraphrasing here but it was something to the effect of ‘We paid a lot of money for these tickets! You don’t treat your first class passengers like this!!!!” Bla bla bla. He was so agitated, wagging his finger and pecking his neck — I thought he was going to pull a muscle. The two of them were yelling at her from each side. I was really taken aback. Safety first, people! And manners, second! … I guess quick fame has its consequences.

“I’ve always known that I wanted to be a mom. I love children. I’ve always loved children. But I’m not like, ‘Oh my god, I really must have kids right now.’ I’ve never felt this pressing urge that some biological clock is ticking. We both want to be parents one day, but I’ve no idea when that will be.” - Charlize Theron talks candidly about her career, relationship with long-time boyfriend Stuart Townsend, and her desire to be a mother in Marie Claire.

“I don’t have a Twitter, a MySpace, or Facebook, or anything like that … I kind of value in people not knowing where I am or what I’m doing … [It's like who needs to know] ‘I’m on the toilet. Still on the toilet. Guys, dot-dot-dot, out of TP. Still on the toilet” — Zac Efron doesn’t want to keep the public posted on his, um, private moments. (Um. Zac, you don’t HAVE to get that intimate. We just wanna see hot pics of you — that’s all.)
