Très Chic Goes Très Vert At Appel And Frank’s Eco-Chic Shopping Event

Ever since the summer of love, San Francisco hasn’t quite shaken its rep as a hub for all things earth child and flower power. While environmental enamorment continues to flourish (plastic grocery bags and water bottles be damned!), there’s nothing granola about the Bay Area’s modern green scene.
Enter the Appel and Frank Eco-Chic Shopping Event. Other industries are tapping into sustainable building, bio-fuels, and organic foods, but Karen Appel and Jody Frank are going straight for the jugular: your closet.
This pair knows Earth-friendly fashion is no longer relegated to frumpy, hempy wares and they’ve lined up 65 fashion-forward designers, more than 30 of which are not only design-oriented but environmentally responsible, as well. Brands like Anna Cohen, Envirosax, BZBdesigns, Mama Cow, and Green Dog Designs run the green gamut— from clothing and accessories to stationary, baby, and pet products.
The event will also feature a sustainable café lounge, stocked with samples of free organic fair trade coffee for a socially-conscious mid-spree pick-me-up. Natural spa treatments and sake2me beverages also promise to make the lounge an organic oasis.
At long last, the details (warning: free stuff ahead):
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at appelandfrank.com until Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. or at the door, and a portion of the proceeds benefit Friends of the Urban Forest. The first 300 shoppers to arrive receive a tote loaded with goodies from Brown Bag Botanicals, Kamalaspa, MOP, Recycline, Soy Joy, sake2me, and more. The Regency Center in San Francisco hosts this event from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27.
