Dr. Andrew Weils has video that compliments his book: Eating Well for Optimal Health.

One of the things he talks about that really reasonates for me:
“There is no opposition between eating for health and eating for pleasure”
So many of us think that being healthy is some kind of chore. If it tastes good, it can’t be healthy. But one of the most important things about living in balance and being well is feeling nourished and satisfied. Its a happy blend of rich, flavorful foods that give us the energy and make us feel good.
Some other great tips from Dr. Weil:
In order to achieve optimal health in our lives, it’s important to consider the following key areas of lifestyle:
1) Diet
Most of Dr. Weil’s patients who are suffering from disease are able to drastically improve their health by making modifications to what they eat.
2) Dietary supplements
Supplements come in handy since most of us don’t get all the vitamins, minerals from our basic meals.
3) How to relax (how to neutralize stress)
- breathing, - meditation
4) Exercise, physical activity
Looking at exercise as the sum total of activity throughout the day, not necessarily intense workouts.
5) Connectedness
Living in isolation promotes illness. Being connected to a: spouse, lover, nature, pets, or friends promotes health.
6) Play
Look at your attitude toward work. Is what you do satisfying? Is there an element of play, creativity or joy in what you do?

i keep finding foods i’m allergic to and the process of discovering this has been an eye-opener as to just how much of an impact diet has on health, and not just in the obvious ways.
