I will be traveling over the holidays (beginning next week) so rather than go bananas with holiday decor, I’ve been enjoying December with sweet and simple reminders of the spirit of abundance.
Abundance, you ask? Absolutely.
It first tapped me on the shoulder when I was in Manhattan just as streets and shops were being lit up with colorful lights. Abundance said hello again with a trip to the local market. I feasted my eyes on pumpkins and squash and gigantic juicy apples. Abundance even enticed me outdoors into the brisk morning cold so I could walk along paths glittered with pine cones and bushes of bright red berries.
See, I’ve been living richly for weeks now, with an abundance of colors, sights and smells as the sources of my creativity. It’s a richness that has nothing to do with money. And it can be shared. It’s like nature yearns for us to go out, soak it all up, and shine brightly with it’s spirit.
The image above shows off treasures from outside my home ~ all except the candle. The giant pine cone begged me to pick it up from the path on my morning nature walk.
What does abundance mean to you and where does it pop up in your life?

My next door neighbors recently brought a HUGE basket of fruit decorated with pine boughs, leaves and big red grapes that I used as a centerpiece for my table. After dinner people just grabbed a piece of fruit! My nephew loved that part. Also, I won some beautiful golden earrings that arrived just in time for a holiday party! What wondrous bounty!
