Monday’s are quick tips to kick-start your week.
This week we remind you that you are not a machine. Yes, even though your phone may buzz to alert you constantly of emails, text messages and voicemail and even though we become so attached to these gadgets they almost feel like appendages to our own bodies–the secret is…they’re really not. And we’re not gadgets ourselves.
We require a little Q.T. with ourselves, some down time to refuel our cells and give room for a plethora of ideas and inspiration. In other words be sure to take a time out at least once (if not 5 times) this week.
I challenge you now: remove your hands from the keyboard, step away from the desk, and do one of the following:
1. Take your lunch break outdoors. If you catch your mind thinking about work, pause, let the thought go and focus your energy on how your body feels to have a break. Even better, sit quietly and just daydream. If it’s too cold outside, find a window seat in a cozy cafe.
2. Go for a brisk walk. There’s no better way to get your juices going than to get your body moving and the blood circulating. Take nice deep breaths into your belly and exhale fully out any tension or stress.
3. Read or write. Let yourself shift gears just for 30 minutes. Take a book or a magazine and let your mind relax into the pages of a good story or glossy images. I never felt like I had time to write or compose myself until I gave myself a real lunch break and time to scribble thoughts and doodle in my journal.

Another great post. Lately I’ve been finding a lot of peace and presence through gazing at the sky.Night or day there is a special kind of awe that comes over me when I look up at the vastness above us. The ocean can do this for me as well.
