Natural Beauty: Advice from Model and Founder of pur~lisse

Au Natural:
Wellness on Wednesday is all about the natural you!

Last week I had the opportunity to meet with Jennifer Yen, the founder of a skin care line called pur~lisse. From the moment she walked in, this woman radiated beauty.

jenniferyen1.gifIt turns out, Ms Yen, was compelled to create pur~lisse to satisfy her own skin dilemna’s as a model with sensitive skin. Rather than stay frustrated, she garnered advice from her grandmother and crafted product based Chinese heritage with ingredients like Blue Lotus—a flower with a history of medicinal use and a natural preservative of beauty and youth.

My parched and dry skin was instantly quenched with pur~lisse’s revitalizing moisturizers and cleanser. A week later, and I’m getting back to the glow I had from my month-long vacation. I rejoiced when I found out that pur~lisee products are “P” free: paraben and preservative-free, petro-chemical-free, propylene-glycol-free and even fragrance free. Even more fun, I discovered that you can find these gentle age-defying goodies through Glam.com.

I asked Jennifer to share some of her natural beauty secrets. She informed me that most of her healthy eating habits stem from her asian roots. Here are Jennifer’s top 3 beauty food tips:

  • To stay trim, young and healthy I’ve always consumed an asian-based diet comprised of lots of vegetables, little meat, and rice.
  • In our house, we never ate a lot of dessert or sugar. If there was dessert, it was typically fruit.
  • We would never drink soda or cold juices—only tea or soup.
