Wellness on Wednesday is all about the natural you!
Last week I offered some suggestions on how to avoid mosquitoes by making some small but serious dietary changes. This week, I’ll share some tips on things you can do in your environment to elude the dreaded bugs:
- Wear light colored clothing – mosquitoes are attracted to dark colors (which explains why they often circle around my head!)
- Carry a fan – when your body heats up, it emits CO2, lactic acid (from exercise), and perspiration (more attractors)
- Avoid pools of standing water – a mosquito haven
- Watch those scents — Although you should avoid fruity and floral fragrances, you can use particular scents to send those bugs flying. In particular, try essential oils of lemon eucalyptus, citronella, cinnamon, rosemary, and peppermint. Reapply or replenish as needed.
I hope these tips help–let us know if you have any others!
