The number eight symbolizes wealth in Chinese culture, and today (8/8/08) is a lucky day, indeed. It is an auspicious date to start the Beijing ‘08 Summer Olympics and the perfect date to get married; or so believe the 9,000 couples in Beijing alone who will get their marriage certificates today!
I certainly hope it is, and I wish happiness and prosperity to all those celebrating the Olympics and those getting married today!

That’s very interesting because normally I resonate with 9, I still do, but 8 has been popping up around me for the past six months-ish and oddly it hadn’t occured to me to look it up… interesting! Maybe today is my lucky day!
