We usually think to unwind at the end of the week, but why not try it at the beginning too? Starting your work week in a calm and centered state of mind can keep stress levels low straight through to the weekend. So, what’s the secret to coasting on mellow mode? Restorative yoga. Restorative yoga is a gentle class that focuses on postures to help you de-stress and relax. Teachers use blankets, bolsters, blocks, and straps to make you as comfortable as possible in positions such as: legs up the wall, childs pose, and supported bridge pose. Some teachers may use essential oils for aromatherapy or share inspirational quotes with the class. I once had an exceptional teacher who provided everyone with a lavender eye pillow and a mini foot massage. The possibilities are endless, so stop by your local yoga studio and restore yourself.
