Is He One of the Girls?

shockAs much as we women worry about the risks of breast cancer, there may be one small fact that many are unaware of; men can get breast cancer, too! According to the American Cancer Society, 440 men will die this year from breast cancer. Since men have similar tissue in that area even if it is underdeveloped, it is equally likely to get cancer as much as a female would. Men usually don’t understand that until they reach puberty, they have the same small amount of breast tissue that girls have and while girls develop further, the tissue doesn’t go away. The risk factors and chances of survival are the same, and early detection is still key to beating this disease.
