As many of my friends are venturing into motherhood for the first time, I find myself buying mini-me items for the little ones.  I can’t stop purchasing little versions of things I love - little checkered Vans, C & C Tees, 7 For All Mankind Jeans, etc., realizing that I am wardrobling my friends kids like me …. so as I was shopping for yet more baby gifts this weekend, I was thrilled to walk into Giggle and find truely cool, unique gifts.  This store is the place to find unique, stylish baby items.  The staff was extremely helpful and super imformative.  With store locations only in San Francisco and New York (more locations coming soon), I was happy to find out of their online store egiggle.com, so that no one misses out.

One of my favorite online shopping sites, ManeaterThreads.com, recently launched a program they call ‘Chic for Change’.  Every month they will be donating 5% of their sales to a different local or international nonprofit, with a focus (but not limited to) organizations that address women’s and children’s issues, the environment, animals, or international relief.  Thier beneficiary for the month of July is the American Refugee Committee, which provides humanitarian asistance and training to refugee communities and displaced people all over the world.  Tanya Zilinskas, founder of ManeaterThreads,  says ”I was drawn to  the ARC because of their work in Darfur, and I plan on giving to more organizations that assist in that region.  It’s truly disturbing what is going on there right now, and I think the more people who help with their money or their time, the better.”  Tanya also mentions, “I would really like the store to stand for more than jsut clothes, and when we have a good month, I want it to be a good month for someone else as well.”

Tanya, you rock!!!!  And so does her store, if you haven’t checked it out, definitely do.  She has an amazing eye and carries a perfect mix of designers including; American Retro, Jennifer Nicholson, Mara Hoffman, Mike & Chris, Fluet, By Francine, Rami Kashou, and many more.

John Eshaya, women’s buyer and creative director of Ron Herman, started JET from his garage in 1987 after his boss at Ron Herman (then a salesman) complemented him on a pair of shorts he had made.  After making a few pairs for the store he knew he was on to something when they sold out almost immediately.  JET is now a full line of printed tees, sweatshirts, tops, dresses, and jeans that can be found at over 300 stores around the country.  Fans include Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, Scarlett Johansson, Madonna, and Christina Aguilera.

So the game of Glam Tag continues.  I’ve been tagged by our fabulous Network Editor Annie who let us in last week on the 10 things she can’t live without and now it’s my turn

10 Things I Can’t Live Without

1.  Estee Lauder More Than Mascara:  The best mascara ever!

2.  Mani/Pedis:  One of my most favorite things to do

3.  Diet Coke:  It’s bad, I know, but I loooove DC

8. Target:  I am like a kid at a candy store when it comes to Target.  Whether I am on a run for cleaning supplies, housewares or to check out the latest GO designer, I always leave very happy and with a little more than I anticipated.

9.  Juicy Couture Cashmere Sweatpants:  I always look forward to investing in a new pair when Fall rolls around - I live in these when vegging out at home, they are also great for a long plane ride.  They are a bit of an investment (well worth it though, I swear) although check out Lohemans or Nordstrom Rack, I recently found a hoodie/pant set at Loehmans for half the price.

10.  Water:  I love being near the water and drinking water.  I grew up near the beach so being too far away from some sort of body of water (ocean, lake, a pool, you name it) depresses me.  Being near the water makes me feel peaceful … I also happen to drink about a gallon of water a day, no joke.  It’s all water all the time!
