If you are anything like me, you loved 1965 cult-classic “Get Smart” with the crime fighting dynamic duo Maxwell Smart (Don Adams) and Agent 99 (Barbara Feldman) whose mission was to thwart evil do’ers trying to take over the world!! (MUAAHHAHAAH) If so, then you must be ecstatic to know that this summer the delightful tv show is making its way to the big screen…with a modern twist!
The one thing I am looking forward to (besides the comedic relief of Steve Carell) is the fashion!!! Anne Hathaway WOWed us in “The Devil Wears Prada” and she’s doing it again as Agent 99 the levelheaded, daring, and the oh so sophisticated sidekick whose casual-chic appearance is versatile easily taking her all over the world as a top international spy.
My wardrobe has been waiting for an upgrade and what a better boost than to stock it with a modern take on a 1960’s feel. Get these fabulous finds so that your style can become useful in many undercover operations…

It’s a hard knocks life for your wardrobe this summer. A spectrum of textures and styles from smooth gold studs, elaborate zipper detailing, black leather, and metallic accents are hugely popular right now! Celeb’s such as Paris Hilton, Hilary Duff, and Audrina Partridge, are obessed with this look. Think biker babe meets Posh Spice…very fashionable pieces with a touch of edge. This hard-core, no non-sense, a**-kicking, look is so hot, no one would be caught dead messing with you! Get them now…or else

I want nothing more than to get away this summer. Backpacking through Europe, snorkeling in the Caribbean, or zebra spotting on a Safari in Africa. The excitement of going on a safari and mingling with the monkeys, laying around with the lions, and elevating with the elephants (corny I know!) is just too exiting just thinking about! Unfortunately, if you’re like me, you just don’t have the finances to fund your fantastic fun-filled-adventure. So what’s the next best thing?!? Bring all those elements into your wardrobe!! Giraffe prints, chic floppy hats, oversize sunglasses, faux croc detailing, and shoes that are so hot, the Sahara dessert can’t beat em’. Check out these finds!

Remember when you were young and had a wild and vivid imagination…everything was whimsical, extravagant, crazy, and anything but impossible.
And now that you are an adult with responsibilities, headaches, and heartaches, you forget those innocent days. But now that spring is in full bloom take a day for yourself and retreat to your backyard, your own secret garden. While sipping lemonade and reading your favorite Jane Austen book (or whatever book catches your fancy) you gaze up, the sun lightly kisses your skin as the beams peak through the tall bamboo shading you from the outside world. The butterflies and hummingbirds fill your intimate garden space with a burst of color. The waterfall (you put in last summer) makes a subtle bubbling sound as the water flows ever so gently into the serene koy pond (you put in before the waterfall) in one corner of your peaceful sanctuary.
All these blissful elements don’t have to be exclusive to the backyard, you can also incorporate them into your wardrobe. By mixing and matching color, prints, and solid neutrals, your fantasy garden will no longer be a secret. Check out these picks!

Put on your drop waist dresses, a string of pearls, and your dancing shoes, and head down to your local Speakeasy (password: Style) for a good time! This season Flapper-inspired fashions have paved the way for many cute pieces for spring. One of the most elegant and prolific designers of our time, the Miss Coco Chanel, epitomized 1920’s style, and changed the way society viewed fashion.

The neutral tones of navy, cream, and beige and the simple shapes that didn’t have elaborate definition or detail, have been re-invented in 2008, taken to a whole new level of sophistication. A mixture of masculine inspired pieces and sultry feminine accessories give this look a very natural and easy feel.
These looks can be worn during the day while out shopping, picnicking, or just enjoying the spring atmosphere, and then can be taken straight to evening for a night of dinner, dancing, and maybe even some romancing! Prohibition won’t keep you away from these flirty, fabulous, and fun favs that are going to be a staple in your closet. Check them out!
