The heart, soul, and spirit of Hurley culture is rooted in curiosity toward the world and creativity, which is reflected not only in their apparel, swimwear and accessories, but in innovative artistic endeavors, collaborations, and charitable initiatives such as Warped Tour, Walk the Walk, and Hurley Art Chest.

“Hurley does everything with a lot of genuine heart,” Bar said, “and I love that Hurley’s beach culture lifestyle incorporates fashion and makes it look and feel sexy and effortless. Every time I travel, I pack their pieces so I have the Hurley culture with me wherever I go.”

The Young Contemporary collection is created for young women to integrate Hurley into their wardrobe with her own personal style. Every dress, separate and swimsuit in the collection is interpreted through Hurley’s unique tomboy sexy lens: timeless classics and unexpected fabrics in great fitting silhouettes give the wearer confidence and sex appeal.

Shot in Brazil by David Mushegain, images from Bar’s first campaign for Young Contemporary spring 2009 apparel and swim collections will debut in October.

Happy.Healthy.Baby

As many of my friends are venturing into motherhood for the first time, I find myself buying mini-me items for the little ones.  I can’t stop purchasing little versions of things I love - little checkered Vans, C & C Tees, 7 For All Mankind Jeans, etc., realizing that I am wardrobling my friends kids like me …. so as I was shopping for yet more baby gifts this weekend, I was thrilled to walk into Giggle and find truely cool, unique gifts.  This store is the place to find unique, stylish baby items.  The staff was extremely helpful and super imformative.  With store locations only in San Francisco and New York (more locations coming soon), I was happy to find out of their online store egiggle.com, so that no one misses out.

Chic for Change

One of my favorite online shopping sites, ManeaterThreads.com, recently launched a program they call ‘Chic for Change’.  Every month they will be donating 5% of their sales to a different local or international nonprofit, with a focus (but not limited to) organizations that address women’s and children’s issues, the environment, animals, or international relief.  Thier beneficiary for the month of July is the American Refugee Committee, which provides humanitarian asistance and training to refugee communities and displaced people all over the world.  Tanya Zilinskas, founder of ManeaterThreads,  says ”I was drawn to  the ARC because of their work in Darfur, and I plan on giving to more organizations that assist in that region.  It’s truly disturbing what is going on there right now, and I think the more people who help with their money or their time, the better.”  Tanya also mentions, “I would really like the store to stand for more than jsut clothes, and when we have a good month, I want it to be a good month for someone else as well.”

Tanya, you rock!!!!  And so does her store, if you haven’t checked it out, definitely do.  She has an amazing eye and carries a perfect mix of designers including; American Retro, Jennifer Nicholson, Mara Hoffman, Mike & Chris, Fluet, By Francine, Rami Kashou, and many more.

The Seaton Flagship Store is Now Open!

The dynamic husband and wife duo, Mark Freeman and Jill Roberts (who also own the Jill Roberts boutiques) have introduced the first Seaton Flagship store! The Seaton store is a new unique concept in retail where the Seaton label, a beachy, casual, carefree-like clothing line, will be featured. What makes this store stand-out from the couples other stores is the fact that it won’t be a fashion boutique, but instead will cater to the modern, relaxed, and inspirational lifestyle that many beach-bums can relate to. Not to say that this store is anything but chic, it is, but with a cool, calm, and collective vibe that will attract an array of customers. The aesthetic of the Seaton boutique will carried through on to the flagship store keeping the warm and inviting atmosphere that many people love. The store will stock all lifestyle products from clothes, accessories, bedding, books, glass wear, and gifts. Missing Piece is an artist representative agency that connects San Francisco’s most talented up-and-coming fashion and costume designers with individuals and industries who want custom-made clothing. I’m constantly looking through fashion magazines and watching runway shows wishing that someone would create a piece that is all me, all mine, all the time. There are 9 very creative, innovative, and very talented artists who are represented by this great agency. Denim For Your Guy

This summer is going to be haute, haute, haute! The heat, humidity, sticky and stifling weather makes us dread putting on jeans. Women have so many options, dresses, skirts, short shorts, longs shorts, capris, bermudas, and the list goes on. But for men, well, they really only have one, heavy shorts. Usually in denim, khaki, or an unseemly Hawaiian print. Yuck!

Well fret no more men, denim designer Paige Adams-Geller has come to the rescue. With her famed PPD Jeans for Men the collection has been taken to a new level of comfort, style, and perfection.

The collection offers two brand new washes that are available in four signature cuts that are made from an exclusive lightweight blend, only 9.5 ounce denim.

“Most denim is around 11 or 12 ounces but that is too thick for the summer,” says the designer, who noticed that the men in her life were in need of something lighter for summer. “I wanted to offer something light, breathable and comfortable.”

Pick from the new Retro Blue, a take on the all-American denim of the past, while Coal is a worn-down black wash.

SO Cute For Summer

My head is already in summer mode!  I’ve got my linen pants, bermuda shorts and bikini tops all laid out … I just hope Mother Nature is on the same page as me!  Anyhow, as we are certainly heading in that direction, I’ve come across some adorable pieces from Old Navy that I wanted to share.  Summer wardrobes definitely do not need to break the bank, and these pieces prove it!
